Show STUDENT LIFE It may really render him more ferocious than ever which men was the case when Prof Bexell came clown to lunch with a toothache and defied any one to speak to him The Misses Eliason entertained at luncheon Miss Hattie Smith and Miss Carter Wednesday Feb 24 A three course dinner was served to the Cache County teachers sevenin number Feb 13 ty-five The teachers of the Benson school Mrs Kerr Misses Nora and Egbert Simonds Clevens Larsen took lunch at the college Saturday Feb 20 The advanced students of the manual training course are doing beautiful work in lace and embroidery The kitchen was the scene of a tragedy Thursday afternoon which caused all concerned much anxiety and a sleepless night but was discovered on the following morning to be only a farce Miss H removed three rings from her hand and left them on the table while doing her work She had been in the habit of doing this although Miss C at the adjoining table had warned her not to trust too far the good reputation of domestic science girls and Thursday afternoon the rings disappeared A search was made but they thorough were not to be found Next morning Miss C apparently in pos session of a great joke came to Miss H and handed her the 185 rings with “You won’t leave them on the table any more will you?” A few minutes later Miss C — — who was only thoughtless was made to see the serious side of the 1 matter world's fair exhibit The sewing department has arranged an exhibit for the St Louis fair which is intended to show by various cabinets books charts and articles of clothing the scheme pursued by the students through the three successive years of the Domestic Arts course The following is a list of the articles in the order in which they are made : 1 A cabinet of models showing the different hand stitches required in sewing A cabinet of machine models 2 showing the variety of work which can be done on the machine 3 A book containing samples of hand and machine pieces with instructions on the page opposite each model These books the students retain and refer to as they proceed with their work 4 A suit of underwear consist- ing of three pieces 5- - A portfolio containing out- lines on the origin and manufacture of the materials used in the work 6 A simple dress of white lawn trimmed with lace A cabinet showing draughting for waist and sleeve patterns 8 A cabinet containing a waist lining showing the manner of boning of putting on hooks and eyes and of binding the seams 7 |
