Show STUDENT LIFE Junior Japanese JiPPer Jabber thgin eno rof hguols sroinuj thgiled rof su hiiw nioj thgie ta emoh seniaC T nhoj ctad elit rebmemer tsuj Each member of the class re- ceived the above invitation written on a delicate blue card and attached to a small souvenir Japanese umbrella The Junior girls were at the bottom of the whole scheme The entertainment proved to be the greatest social success of the season and from the standpoint of genuine fun and care-fre- e enjoyment an event unparalleled in the history of the class Good things have come to the Junior class before but the Japanese party eclipsed everything that preceded it The girls were dressed in Oriental costumes the parlors were elaborately decorated with Japanese curios fans rugs and tapestries lighted with Japanese lanterns and furnished throughout in close imitation of the palace of the Mikado The guests were 'met at the door by richly dressed attendants who conducted them to the dressing-rooand from there to the par m 181 lors Not a chair nor a table was seen during the evening but there was a generous supply of rugs and sofa cushions upon which the guests were comfortably seated and they proceeded at once to stake their fortunes upon their success at fan tan The floor made an excellent table for the game At about ii 130 an elaborate five' course supper was served With charming grace and ease the happy crowd managed their chopsticks while they disposed of Japanese sunda chop suey rice fish balls and noodle soup Tea was served to each guest upon his arrival and again at luncheon After indulging in the fascinating- games of lezeyolah and k until after midnight the guests Those present were: departed Misses Ella Maughan Minnie Peterson Hazel Love Blanche Caine Verna Bowman Tillie Gardner Mr and Mrs Walter Porter and Messrs John Fredrickson James T Jardine John Tuttle Grover Rich J L Jenkins L Humphries Richard Ballantyne J II Smith E G Peterson E S Peirce Orval Adams J S Coburn M C Merrill and F O Nelson nab-mo- |
