Show WASHINGTON (UPI) — The head of one of zjr the nation’s largest unions today called for Labor Secretary Raymond Donovan to resign following disclosure by a Senate committee chairman of death threats against a staff member investigating Donovan Senate Labor Chairman Orrin Hatch said Wednesday the committee investigation had received a telephoned death threat warning him to quit a probe of Donovan’s business dealings The investigator is involved in the committee’s probe of allegations that Donovan and his former firm Schiavone Construction of NJ have ties to organized crime There was no immediate comment from Donovan who said a White House spokesman “doesn’t condone threats’’ and is displeased Schiavone hired private investigators to check members of Congress on who made allegations
