Ms. Lane, who was raised and educated in Utah and began her professional career as a teacher, began writing seriously when her youngest child started school and has since published twelve novels. it The League of Utah Writers is a organization devoted to encouraging and as writers as at all well levels, developing promoting the excellence of writing in Utah. I agree, but at that point in time I didnt really know where to find truth (as defined in the scriptures as "a knowledge of things as they are, as they were, and as they are to come." Then I joined a couple of study groups and began to get information not available through the "six oclock news" or even the newspapers. And now I think Im finally on the right track. The overall picture, as I see it, is that the "one worlders (those who seek to enslave all mankind) have a very idealistic and "utopian" plan to do that very thing. George Bernard Shaw, whom I used to admire, was one of those early planners, and in his "Intelligent Womans Guide to Socialism" paints us a picture we can look forward to: "I also make it clear that Socialism means equality of income or nothing and that under Socialism you would not be allowed to be poor (sounds pretty good to most of us). You would be forcibly fed, clothed, lodged, taught, and employed whether you liked it or not. If it was discovered that you had not the character and industry to be worth all this trouble, you might possibly be executed (oh, oh, Im getting out - one way or another) in a kindly manner (like they are doing in China, South Africa, or wherever), but while you were permitted to live you would have to live well." So, now how are they going to make us accept this wonderful state of affairs? To those of us who had been raised with faith in God (religion), love and appreciation of country (loyalty), belief in the sanctity of the family, etc. they saw that that was a hard nut to crack, so their best bet was to get at the children. The National Education Association, with its many CFR and Communist members were only too willing to assist. I do not have time or space to tell the whole story, but you can read it in the book "None Dare Call It Treason - 25 years later" by John Stormer. All is not lost, however. A quote from the book gives some hope: "Because control of schools is at the local level, the job of insuring that they remain sound, or making them so, if they are not, must be done locally. However, the parent, school administrator, or organized group, which opposes, or even questions the theories and methods of the progres-sivisis likely to bring down a storm of attacks, smears, and vilification." Of whom was the Apostle Peter speaking when he said, "But there were false prophets among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that brought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken." In his article, he to receive did what good grades. they courages students to progress in school by telling The article was too long for publication in its entirety. We apologize to Tommy for not having room, but would like to publish a few highlights . HOW TO PASS THAT CLASS CTirne For A Ch angel by Tommy Davenport I do a lot of filings academically and physically to do better in school. Some of, in my opinion, the most important deeds I accomplish to improve my grades include the following ideals and objectives: 1. Band gives me a way out of the HARD life of school and the HARD life of being a teenager in our world today. If you dont want to take a band class, take Shop or Foods or Art! These classes will give you some time to enjoy school in a healthful way! If you have already signed up for other classes, try to make them simply fun! 2. Get outdoors! If Im cooped up in a boring classroom all dav long then I come home to the NOT pleasant surprise of having to stay home the rest of the night, and quite frankly, I get aggravated! Take a walk once in awhile, or get involved in entertaining and skillbuilding sports. These outdoor experiences give you a way to let loose of all your stress in a great, or at least fun, way to do it! 3. Along with getting outdoors, get involved in a lot of activities. School dances and parties gives you some time to socialize and can also get your stress out of you. 4. Dont be lazy! When I do my chores, which I almost never do, the small amour of work actually helps me, because it teaches me to take a task and finish it A good way to succeed in life is to finish what you start. 5. Dont spend all your time in front of the T.V. However, its okay to watch it once in awhile. T.V. is a good way to relax after a hard day of study, but dont watch it for excessive hours. 6. Take time to read. I guarantee that reading will help you in your English class. Reading is always going to help you in school. Even if you dont care about English class, it will help you leam for other classes. 7. This is the most important, also MY SECRET TO SUCCESS! Make school a game by setting high goals and standards. Pick a friend who is passing the class and compete for grades with him or her. In other words: If they receive a Cryou get at least a C. If you say "Might" succeed, you probably will not. If you say "Will" succeed, then you actually might succeed. The best way to set your goal for the competition with your friend is to write it down and put it where you WILL see your goal. Always do better than before. Youll be surprised how easy it is to get great grades by setting high expectations! One more thing. Laugh as hard as you can occasionally. It takes away stress!
