Show The Payson Chronicle, April 17, 1996, Page 4 Ethel Brook Turns 80! The family of Ethel Brook will meet to celebrate her 80th birthday on Saturday, April 20, 1996. Ethel was bom on April 17, 1916, the 6th child of Daniel A. and Rosa Neff. They resided on a family farm near Nephi. Ethel married Max L. Bradley and they had 3 children: Robert L., Joan, and Glen. After Maxs death, she married Floyd Brook and moved to Payson in 1954. They had 1 son, Bard, who was killed in 1976. Ethel has been a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. Her family loves her very much! David J. Eliason Called To Mission David J. Eliason has accepted a call to serve mission for the Church of Jesus a Saints. He will be serving Christ of Latter-da-y m the Florida, Tampa Mission. His farewell will be this Sunday, April 21st, at the Mountain View 1st Ward, located in the Mountain View Stake Center on 200 South 600 East, at 1:30p.m. His family welcomes all to come to his home between 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. for light refreshments. David is an Eagle Scout, served as the Payson High School mascot for one year, and is a graduate of PHS. He was a member of the water polo and swim teams at high school in California. two-ye- Richard Taylor To Celebrate 80th Birthday Jay Corry Accepts LDS Mission Call To Missouri Richard Taylor will celebrate his 80th birthday at an open house hosted by his family All friends and relatives are invited to the event, which will on Sunday, April 21, be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at his home, located at 4972 West 11950 South in Payson. Richard was bom in Loa, Utah, on April 22, 19 16, to Allen Jr. and Lula Jameson Taylor, the 9th of fourteen children. He married Reta Pope on August 26, 1936. They were sealed in the Logan Temple on July 29, 1938. Reta died on June 25, 1992. As a young boy, Richard herded sheep in Wayne County. He later worked in the sugar beet farms in Idaho. He owned and operated a gas station on Center Street in Provo and then started a long career at B YU in the bookstore. Richard is a member of the LDS Church and has served in bishoprics and many other positions. He and Reta served two missions together, one in the Texas Dallas Mission and one in the Virginia Roanoke Mission. Their children are: Bobeta Powell, of Orem; Linden (deceased); Jerry Taylor and Stanley Taylor, both of Provo; LouDean Peterson, of Alpine; Lona Rindlisbacher, of Payson; and Mona Thomas, of Provo. He has 36 grandchildren and 8 19. Shailee Carter One Year Old My name is Shailee Carter. I celebrated my first birthday on April 11, 1996. Hi! There to help me celebrate were my parents, Marc and Chris Carter of Payson; my sister, Jaden; and my brothers, Bryson and Brett. 1 have some grandparents: special Bill and Jeanine Carter, and Theron and Pat Hill; also a very special man Loveless. Sher- great-grandfath- Three Payson mis- sionaries serving in the Nebraska Omaha Mission: Elders Tye Vane, Casey Williams and Mike Openshaw. They are awaiting a 4th missionary from Payson, Elder Scott Bernards. Jay Corry, son of James and Karla Corry of Santaquin, has been called to serve in the Missouri Independence Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Elder Corry will give his farewell address on Sunday, April 21, 1996, at 1:00 p.m. in the Santaquin 4th5th Ward Chapel, comer of 100 North 300 West, Santaquin. All friends and family are welcome to attend. John Montgomery Called To Missionary Service In Georgia John J. son of Jeff and Montgomery, Patty Montgomery of Payson, and Tim and Vicki Healea of Cameron Park, California, has accepted a call to serve in the Atlanta Georgia Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of -day Saints. He will enter the Missionary Training Center on May 1, 1996. Elder Montgomery will give his farewell address on Sunday, April 21, 1996, at 10:50 a.m. in the Mountain View 4th Ward. Friends and family are invited to an open house that afternoon horn 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Johns home, 491 North 600 East, in Paysoa Latter- Scott Brown Returns From Mission In Japan Scott A. Brown returned April 26, the Japan Fukuoka Mission, served two years for The Church Saints. of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Elder Brown will deliver his mission report on Sunday, April 28th, at 1 0:45 a.m. in the Payson 6th Ward, 1080 South 930 West, Payson.
