Show Open House Granitians Marry In LDS Temple - Arvel Wolstenholmes Mark Golden Wedding worked at a variety store known as The Fountain in 1928, so she went back to work in 1946 when the Cyprus Drug first opened up under Bill and Lucy Larson, and she remained there for 28 years working with Hal and Shirley Duke and Doug and Evelyn An open house at the Magna Senior Citizens center, on Friday September 26th, between the hours of 6 and 8 p m., will honor William Arvel and Nelda McDonald Wolstenholme on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary. Arvel was born to Mabel Reid and William Wolstenholme in Salt Lake , Iv $ but he did his growing up in Magna. In the meantime Nelda was also growing Ken Young, Terri Weeks George W'esley and Flora Sorenson McDonald At eight years of age Nelda moved to Bingham Canyon, but it wasn't until her family moved to Magna in 1925 that her future husband moved into her life stream. They met at a Utah Copper club dance, and the congenial atmosphere there fanned the flame of their romance. Before the year was out they had decided to get married, so on Sept 26, 1930 they mounted the steps of the City and County building where they headed for the county clerks office. Although there was not a great deal of fanfare associated with the ceremony, it was a family affair. Neldas parents stood as witnesses to the marriage nuptials and Arvels Aunt Melissa (Tess) Wolstenholme, who worked m the county clerks office, signed the marriage certificate. For a time the young couple lived in Bingham where their first child was born. Later they moved into a small house in Magna, built by Arvels grand- g parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Young, in Sandy. The wedding was held August 29 and the reception followed that evening, also at the Youngs home. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Weeks of West Valley and is a Cyprus high graduate. She has also attended the College of Eastern Utah where she was on a basketball scholarship and reported the womens sports. She was also a staff photographer there. Ken graduated from Jordan high and is presently attending Idaho State University on a track scholarship. He has filled an LDS mission to Texas. Matron of honor was Nadine Matheny and attendants were Grace Rivas and Cheryl Smart. Flower girl was Traci Smart and Maryjane Mathews attended the guest book. Best man for Ken was Lawaun Cunningham and ushering were Kurt Young and Brian Weeks. After a honeymoon the couple plan to make their home in Pocatello. parties were hosted by d Arvel and Martha which was next door to his father.
