Post No. 132 Prepares for Veterans Day Veterans Day, November 11 in Kearns will be a part of a national salute to those who have championed the cause of freedom and an honorable world peace, Post Commander, Frank Grygierczyk of Kearns Post No. 132 announced today. Veterans Day in Kearns wiU be sponsored by the American Legion. A special committee has been organized for the observance under the chairmanship of Carl Parkinson. Post 132 wiU hold a special Veterans Day observance at West Lake Junior High located at 3400 S. 3450 West at 11:00 a.m. The ceremony will start with the raising of the flag while the school band plays Colors to the Flag. A gun salute will be fired by the post drill team and the guest speaker will be Sergeant Major L. Leister, a member of Utah State University Military We extend Science Division. a personal invitation to residents of this area to come out and see the post in action and take part in observing Veterans Day. We also urge that every effort be made to turn Veterans Day 1966 into a dynamic demonstration of patriotism. County Announces Senior Citizen Painting Program Are you a senior citizen that enjoys painting with oils or water colors? Thats the date set by the patrons of the Sen237 S. ior Citizens Center, 10th East, to display their oil paintings and other forms of art work. Ron Boren, center director expects at least 50 paintings to hang on display, most of which will be for ' sale at a bargain price. The exhibit will run from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. to allow everyone a chance to attend. The Senior Citizens Center is operated by the Salt Lake County Recreation Department. Mr. Boren said that a senior citizen who does not regularly attend the center may display his work. If you are a senior citizen who is looking for a chance to show off your talent, give the center a call.
