Kearns triumphed 469 to 392 with 35 local swimmers opposing 28 from Deseret. Larry Tracy and Dale Nelson coached for Kearns, with Coach Russ Sneddon leading the visitors. Stars for Kearns were June Martin in the 8 years and under class who unofficially broke the existing intermountain AAU record for th',l,1J yard individual medley. She swam it in the record time of 1 minute 44.7 seconds. from Kearns, Pam Comros swimming in the 9 to 10 year class, swam the 100 yard individual medley in 1 minute 35.4 seconds.
