This option is especially good for students with busy schedules because it can be just a one-hoper week commitment. To get started, fill out an application at www.BBSU.org and they will call to set up an interview. Campus Garden Rotaract Club Program is also available, which offers students interested in heading a service project $3,000 in ur Michel recently started the Rotaract Club. We have a service club on campus called Rotaract, with about 20 active members. Part of the reason Michel likes the Rotaract Club is because it is a fun group of people. Rotaract makes it easy for students to get involved on campus, and to get out in the community with likeminded people. A group of us is traveling to Mexico in June to do some service work, says Michel. We also volunteer at some nursing homes. While Rotaract focuses more on group activities, they also support individual member projects as Westminster has an on-camp- garden and us greenhouse as well as a chicken coop that are in need of volunteer work. Liz Potucek, a junior science environmental major, urges any students to come to their weekly workdays. Students dont need to have any prior knowledge of gardening, or maintaining chickens, to participate. The easiest way to get involved is to come to the weekly workdays, says Potucek. Its a great way to learn about chicken keeping and urban agriculture without the full responsibility. Weekly workdays are on Wednesdays at 4 p.m. Its a one-da- y per week commitment. For more information contact Kate Rogers, the garden coordinator: her email is ' xoive"' , ' Next Thursday night, March 22, is a great opportunity to get involved.
