All four finalists visited campus and were given an opportunity to interact with faculty, staff and students. This differs from the previous presidential search ten years ago, where faculty, staff and students were not given the opportunity to meet the candidates before the final decision was made. Students were able to meet the candidates during student forums held in the library. Students questions about their goals, as well as to get a feel for the candi- dates personality. And students came to eat pizza. A whole lot of pizza. Jonathon Pierce, the student representative on the Presidential Search Committee, was pleased with the questions asked at the forums. I think that in every single session weve seen sort of the core concerns of the student body being addressed, Pierce said. Positive and negative May Term Study Experiences depend on students personality, budget and independence. Do you like large groups, rigid schedules, independence, adventure, partying? These are all questions students should know their answers to before deciding if May Term is for them. Some May Term Study Experiences have benefits and disadvantages. It depends on the students personal preferences, duct complaint quickly erupted into one of the biggest student election disputes in years. The dispute began on Wednesday, March 7, when Joshua Garrison, an ASWC presidential candidate, filed a complaint against fellow contender Nick Raoux for the professors that are leading the trip, where the experience is and what the cost is. BENEFITS A May Term Study Expe- rience is a supportive, guided excursion. Its great for students who have never traveled outside the U.S. before. Sara Demko, director of student international services, said May Term is a good start, if you have never been anywhere and dont know how to get around the city, or you dont know the language.
