Show RANCH 20-F- & GARDEN Edition April, 1977 1977 contest 3 award winning roses listed after 2 year test The three award winning roses for 1977 are Double Delight, first edition and one from prominent France, one from German, and one from the United States. Double Delight is a hybrid tea, First Edition, a floribunda, and Prominent, a grandiflora. each class at the top of its list, with the rest following in descending order according to their scores. How they became award winners can be quickly told. Along with many other competing entries, these three roses spent two years in the 26 official test After studying the scores, the Judges comments and listening to verbal opinions presented at the meeting, the vote was taken that elected the three 1977 winners. As is cutomary, plants of all the other gar-den- of ts Rose which are scattered throughout the nation. During the testing they were carefully studied and scores were submitted by the Judges through four Selections, evaluation periods, first spring, first fall, second spring and second fall. The fourth and final sets of scores were sent to the AARS at headquarters Shenandoah, Iowa by all Judges in November of the second fall as required by the Rules & Regulations of the organization. There they were computed and arranged under the various rose classifications, the highest scoring entry in been extremely good during the entire period in our garden. A big, beautifully foliaged plant, always dense and compact, it is almost always full of beautiful little buds and open blooms, and I could go into the garden at almost any time and pick, many lovely flowers. The color is a beautiful coral and holds quite well. The little buds are always perfect. The entry has no serious faults.
