First time parents are John and Marie Kirby. Mac and Leah Kirby drove to Green River Friday to see their 15th grandchild. Coach Monte Jones, wife and son are moving to Provo where the coach will attend summer school at BYU. Although it has been a special year for the Joneses and one they treasure, they will not be returning to Emery. Monte has accepted the post of assistant football and wrestling coach at Viewmont High, Bountiful. He may also teach driver education. The Elementary PTA under president LaRae Majors wishes to thank the parents, teachers and students for a successful year. Food sales raised enough money to curtain the four windows in the room. The dark green drapes may be closed whenever films se 2 are shown. For years the teachers had to tape paper over the windows. Now the problem is solved. John S. Wells mining consultant for Robinson and Robinson, Charleston, West Virginia, spent a few days at American coal mine last week. He reports good working conditions at the mine. Mining consultants make estimates of reserves, advise new methods of mining, coal preparation and analysis, advice from soup to nuts mining wise. He said that his firm hires a lady engineer who does all the reserve estimating. Mr. Wells caught several nice rainbow on Huntington Lake. Being good for nothing is what most kids refuse to be. It never occurs to a fellow that a girl might have a dreamy look simply because shes tired of him. 7T Junior high Castle Gate graduation Ninth The Grade graduation was held Friday night, May 19. New officers for the coming year are president, David Jensen; vice president, Richard Van Wagner; Secretary, Lylis Jensen; Editor, Collen Grange; Cheerleaders, Lanore Lofley; Social committee, Scott Jensen, Johnny Burdick and Olen Mikkolson. A plaque In Memory of Their was Coach, Clark Robinson presented to Mr. Hall principal of the North Emery Junior High School by president of the student body, Chris Jensen and Shelly Minchey. The American Legion awarded bonds to the outstanding girl and boy of the ninth grade class, Ted Swinburne and Nadine Hall. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tamagawa for Mothers Day weekend was their son Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tamagawa and baby Brett. Also their daughter Ruby and Dean Jonatsu both from Salt Lake. Bob and Karen Martinez and daughter, Bridgette, from Salt Lake were down for Mothers Day, to visit their parents Mr. and Mrs. Lee Martinez and Pearl Menzies of Helper. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Martinez are also the proud grandparens of a baby girl, born to their son Mr. and Mrs. Gary Martinez of Carson, California. Those visiting the Willard Craigs four days last week were two cousins from Ogden, Mrs. Mary Eastman and Mrs. Vivin Dixon, also Jerald and Sandra Morley from Salem. They also visited with Mrs. Marley in Price and on Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Cleon Craig of Springville. Thursday Mrs. Verda Craig with her daughter, Regina Johnson of Price, spent the day in Salt Lake. A Democratic Mass meeting was held May 15th. Officers elected were: Chairman, Hubert Hreinson; Vice Chairman, Ora Bogdin; Secretary and Treas., Charles Haughton; Delegates to County Convention, Pete Tabone weekend. mm 472-883- their daughter Gary and Lisle Nielson and family. While there, Angello held Friday HUNTINGTON and Joy Bera and family with her two sisters and their families from Helper, celebrated Mothers Day up Provo Canyon with their mother and father Mr. and Mrs. Royal Christenson from Orem. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bendali enjoyed a visit from their grandsons David and Randy Anderson over Mothers Day weekend. They all had Sunday dinner at her daughters, the Sam Marrillis and family, in Spring Glen. To make her day complete she received phone calls from her other families, also her grandson in the navy in Mississippi. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Bushman and family also Mr. and Mrs. Norman Anderson and family and Mrs. Bessie Snow all from Provo visited here with the Pete Tabones. The Bushmans and Andersons returned home, but Mrs. Snow is staying for a longer visit. Janet Thorpe and roommate, Michele Bartness from Kearns, were here to visit Janets parents over Mothers Day see his parents Mr. and Mrs. Dodd Wilstead. He is being transferred from Randolph Air Force Base in Texas, and will now be living in Provo for the next three years. Their son, Troy, is visiting with his grandparents for awhile. A lovely Mothers Day program was held Sunday at the chapel, under the direction of Rabecca Tabone and Lori Olsen. Mrs. Ruth Durrant was their Elna Nougaret Evan and Peggy James from Orem visited Mothers Day with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Sye James. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Nougaret visited in Las Vegas for the past week with their daughter and family. They all enjoyed Mothers Day at Lake Mead. We are happy that Alfred Montez is back home with his family after spending a week in the Carbon hospital. Mrs. Annie Mills with Roy and Melba Mills from Carbonville, visited in Provo Sunday and had Mothers Day dinner there. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Allison and family from Clearfield also Mr. and Mrs. Jack Leifson from Spanish Fork were here to visit their parents and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Fay Thacker over Mothers Day weekend.
