Show 2 Price, Utah e, Eight young men named to Boys State Thursday, May 25, 192 Dr. Aaron Jones will HELPER Eight young men from Helper and Spring Glen have been selected to represent Carbon Post No. 21 of Helper at the annual Boys State conclave on the Utah State University campus beginning June 4. Vince Bonza, Boys State chairman for the post, an nounced the names of the boys, all students at Carbon High School, who will be attending the week-lon- g model exercise in democratic and representative government. The students and receive honorary degree Dr. Aaron E. Jones, president of College of Eastern Utah (then Carbon College) from 1944 until his retirement in 1959, will be to 1936. He was a teacher in the Oakland, California schools and was technical director of the California Youth Survey in 1939. A graduate of the University of Utah, he received an M. A. degree from Utah State University in 1926 and an Ed. D. degree from the University of California in 1938. Since retiring from his awarded an honorary associate of arts degree by CEU during ceremonies commencement June 2. Following his retiremtnt from CEU, Dr. Jones filled a teaching and consulting position at Siate Florida College, Tallahassee. He taught junior college administration and was at position Florida State University, he has lived at Concord and San Luis Obispo, California. Lamont Arnold recently completed the requirements for his Doctorate degree in botany at Utah State University. The degree will be awarded June 3. Dr. Arnold wrote a dissertation entitled, An Analysis of the Taxonomic Status of a New Taxon in the Genus Salsola. He received his master of science degree in zoology in 1954 from Brigham Young University. DR. AARON E. JONES a consultant for newly established junior colleges in the state of Florida.
