HOWARD Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Hunting-to- n ward chapel, Church of Jesus Saints, for Christ of Latter-da- y .Mrs. Elizabeth May Johns Howard, 79, who died Friday night at her home in Huntington of natural causes. She was born May 1, 1876, at Fountain Green, a daughter of Peter and Annie Catherine Anderson Johnson. Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Levi Elbert Howard, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Ronald (Maud) Francis, Lake Shore; Wil liam J. Howard, Kingman, Arizona; John H. Howard, Aberdeen, Idaho; Mrs. W. B. (Fannie) Chris tensen, San Diego, California, and Dee Howard, Huntington; 17 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. Burial was in the Huntington cemetery under the direction of the Wallace mortuary. Dupin. WILLIAM H. JACOB Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of the Mitchell funeral home for William Harold Jacob, 44, who died Sunday morning at his home at Clear Creek of a heart ailment. He was born at Buhl, Idaho, May 23, 1910, a son of Bertrum St. Elmo and Julia Jensen Jacob. He married Vera Haycock at Price November 1, 1938. He was a master mechanic for the Independent Coal and Coke Company at Clear Creek. He is survived by his widow, a son, Jeffery Jacob, Clear Creek; his parents, Price; two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Clinton Edwards, Miller Creek; Mrs. Dan Allred, Carbonville; Bert Jacob Jr., Price, and Lamar Jacob, Castle Dale. Burial was in the Price city cemetery. O Award , Frank Jerant, Stanley Crocco and Thomas Kokal were awarded a trip to Salt Lake to compete in the state junior pentathalon meet which was sponsored by the Deseret News. They received this award because they were district winners in the Southeastern Utah Junior pentathalon meet held in Helper. , Clara Pretiger, president of the Notre Dame Pep Club, presented Mr. Kobe with a gift from the Pep Club. Stanley Crocco, president of the Notre Dame Letter-man- s Club presented Mr. Kobe with a Lettermans jacket from the Lettermans club. Rosalie Salzetti was chosen by the Helper American Auxiliary to go to Girls State to be held at the Utah State Agriculture College in Logan. Father LaBranche was presented a check for $1,147.00 by the children of the school to be applied to the building fund. Remembrance trophies were presented to Bishop Hunt, Reverend John LaHrance, Reverand John Sullivan and Reverend Robert Pollock. The trophies were donated by the Notre Dame Athletic Club, the Notre Dame Mens Club, the Notre Dame Youth Club and the Price Altar Society. Bishop Hunt spoke briefly and congratulated the award winners, the Sisters of Charity, Father LaBranche, Father Wisniewski, Father Dowling, Mr. Kobe and the people of the Price and Helper parishes for their wonderful work this year. She was born July 19, 1861, in Cantalupe, Italy, to Joseph and Caroline Ruggeri. She married James Martelle who died in March of 1934. She had been a resident of Carbon county 57 years. Surviving are two daughters and ri a son, Mrs. A. and Miss Angelina Martelle, Helper, and Victor Martelle, Reno, Nevada; seven grandchildren. Burial was in the Helper Mountain View cemetery under the direction of the Mitchell funeral ship award. Gary Spadafora also received the Bucks Sporting Goods award for being the outstanding athlete of the year. The Morleys Sportsmanship award went to Arthur Leo.
