Brooke graduated with honors from North Sevier High School, was the 1993 Sterling Scholar in Business, and the schools valedictorian. She has been actively involved in student government and FBL A. She has earned her Young Womanhood Recognition awarded recently returned from a tour of Church Historic sites and the Washington DC area. She also graduated in May from Sevier Valley Tech in Advanced Computer Business Management, earning college credit, and plans to attend Snow College this fall. Pageant finals will be held Saturday, June 26, at 3 p.m. at the Red Lion Hotel, SLC. It was very special experience that I learned English and made American friends. The teachers and students always helped me and friendly to me. I want to say thank you to them. Also I am glad that school is having my language class. I appreciate my host family, Scott and Carol Lee Johnson and two younger host brothers, Daniel and Jed. They are always good example to me and I learned many things from them. When I was sad they helped me and made me happy. My IEC Jerry and Connie Hansen, thank you for finding such a nice host family and helping me everyday. Id like to say thank you very much again to everyone that made my exchange year very great. Dear Readers: Now that my year in America is almost over I want to thank everyone who has helped make this year so great! Thanks for letting me be a part of your community and for letting me attend North Sevier High School. Even though it was a lot of work, it paid off in the end; Graduation was great!! Coming here was a very big decision and in the beginning I wasnt sure if I had made the right one. Thanks to all my American family and friends, I now know I made the right decision. Attending an American school was different, but it was a good experience for me. A special thanks to Mr. Larry Shumway for letting me be a part of the school and for letting me graduate. Thanks too, to my favorite teacher Mrs. Diane Hendrickson; your class was the best!! Even though this school year doesnt count as a school year in Ncyway, it was worth it I have learned so much about myself and I have matured a lot. My warmest gratitude goes to my host family Devon and Randa Bullard and their sons. I felt like they are my second family. Thanks for letting me be your exchange student and thanks for being such great parents and brothers. I also thank Hyrum and Betty Luke for being such good grandparents and friends. Janne Lindseth Norway - Dear Readers: It has been a great year in the US A and although it seemed so long in the beginning, time went by fast. I want to thank all the people who made this year possible and very special to me. I love Utah and the people are really nice. First of all I want to thank my host family, the Harrisons, who shared so much with me. I enjoyed staying there a lot. It was fun. I also want to thank the other host families for what they did for all of us. You were great! Im very grateful to Mr. Shumway and all of the teachers at NSHS for their support during the year and for letting me graduate. A special thanks to my softball coaches. Miss Larson and Mrs. Camp. I really learned something new. I also want to thank our EC Connie Hansen who always cared for us and made our stay easier in many ways. ATV training classes planned here in July Salina will be hosting an ATV Training Session on Wednesday, July 14, for all youth ages 8 through 16 who must take the class in order to legally operate an ATV. Salina Police Chief Gordon Kiesel says that registration can be done at the Salina City building in its temporary location in the old Midway Diesel building. More details will be upcoming, however those needing the class should see that they are registered in time. An adult must be present with the youth during the course. . Due to changing space needs at the Sevier Valley Applied Technology Center, USU is removet ing its telecommunications equipment from the Corn-Nclassroom for the summer. This year, the Salina Sun Gunnison Valley News will present a special supplement to its July 21st issue, called Pioneers Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.
