Tracy and Joan Gillies traveled to Salt Lake Saturday and had lunch with Shannon and Loren Wadstein. Shannon joined Joan and Tracy in doing some shopping int he afternoon. The new residents in Axtcll, Johna nd Betty Bard, moved here from Fontana, California along with their daughter Susan and her three children. Robin who is 13 and int he seventh grade has been busy getting acquainted with new friends along with her brothers Christopher, who is twelve and Jeremy, who is ten. They think they will enjoy living in Axtell. Sunday evening Susan Bard and son Jeremy joined others of Axtell Ward in the Blazer Briefing and Merrie Miss Memorandum held in conjunction with Centerfield First Ward Blazer and Merrie Miss Leaders Kevin and Trudy Despain as well as Sharon and Quay mecham and Maghan, Richard and Phyllis Cowley and Joe and Joan Newman ad Raymond were in attendance. Kathy and Dennis patter-so- n were in California Thursday through Monday visiting with Dennis sister and family at Palm Dessert. They enjoyed going to San Diego and Tijuana while they were there. Alesha Cochran, daughter of Trudy and Kevin Despain celebrated her fifth birthday march 11. Others celebrating birthdays were Jcntry Anderson, March 13 and Elwood Sorenson, today March 15. Happy Birthday to each of them. Lucille Cameron and Thorpe have received word that their grandson David Anderson of Colorado Springs has received his mission cal to the Provo Utah Mission. He enters the MTC in May. He is the son of Mary and John Anderson. Elwood and J ulie Sorenson were in Richfield Sunday evening for a surprise birthday celebration in honor of granddaughter. Trecia Christensens 16th birthday. Trecia is the daughter of Kathy and Ted Christensen. David Madsen and Eugene Wagstaff of the High Council were the speakers in Sacrament Meeting Sunday. Mikka Inouye played a piano selection. Miles Jensen is in the Gunnison Hospital recovering from a heart attack on Saturday. We wish him a speedy recovery. Phyllis Cowley and her sister Bclva Burr of Kearns spent the day SAturday visiting with their Mother Vera Jensen of Salina doing some housecleaning for her. Acel and Amu Thompson accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Dolph Spencer of Redmond to Mesquite, Nevada for the weekend. They stayed at the Pcppcrmill. On Thursday, March 9 Acels brother and wife Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Thompson came for a short visit and then traveled on to St. George. and JoLynn There are two young men in Gunnison that have been ill for several months, Hal Hendrickson and Donald Hill. Both of them have had back surgery recently. They are now at their home recuperating and we wish them a quick recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Anderson announce the birth of a baby daughter on Sunday morning. She weighed 7 lbs. The little miss has one brother and four sisters at home and will be named Kimberly. Buchanan from , Roger Wyoming visited with his mother Lucille Buchanan. He come on Wednesday and returned home on Sunday. While he was here he did lots of jobs for Lucille and she was glad to have him come. Elder Karsten Sorenson arrived home last week. He served a mission to Pennsylvania Pittsburgh and reported on his mission Sunday in the Gunnison Third ward. We are glad to have you home, Karsten! . North Sevier Middle School held the annual Science Fair, Wednesday, March 7 in the Middle School Gymnasium. The overall winners from Aurora were: Patrick Coons, son of Michael and Susan Coons; Candice Mason, daughter of Royce Spending some time with Bishop and Phyllis Jensen has been their daughters Ann Marie and Cheryl Jean Bateman and Cheryl Jeans children. Road Shows will be held on Wednesday, march 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. Redmond starts at the stake center at 7:15 and will end in Redmond at 8:45. That night they attended the reception for Trudy and Karl Buddge and returned home SaturMrs. Lorraine Thomas took Amtrack to Pasco, Washington on February the 24 then she and her daughter Heidi Devries and six Devries granddaughter traveled three days through Oregon and California attended a 90th birthday party for Aunt Mae Perkins in ElSegundo, California. Then spent two days at Disneyland, then they were joined by another daughter of Lorraines, Julie Smith and family. Lorraine attended Disneyland for two more days with the Smith children. They also visited Universal Studios and on the way home they stopped at Zions Park and Bryce Canyon. The Smiths with visit the Thomas for day. Richard and Ann Harrop motored to St. George early last Thursday morning for Richard to attend workshop there and Ann enjoyed the art shows. They enjoyed the weekend in St. George especially the spring weather. Neil Mellor just returned home from Colorado where he spent the last 29 days getting a military education. He attended a Primary Leadership Development course at Ft. Carso, Colorado, he also learned many military leadership skills, land navigation, infirmary tactics, and true bleeding procedure.
