The film New Beginnings was viewed and then each girl was presented with her book and a lovely orchid carnation. Bishop Robert Lund gave the closing remakrs with the closing prayer by bishops counselor, Robert Tingey. Perry Pulse night at Perry Back-to-scho- ol by Mrs. Max Nelson rior accompanied by Sherilyn Johnston. School bells will be ringing out tonight for all parents with children attending Perry school. The general meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the e room with school PTA president Mrs. Susan Noyes conducting. During the general meeting all school personnel and PTA officers and chairmen will be introduced along with setting the activities and projects for the coming year. Following the general meeting two 15 minute sessions will be held in each class. This will give each parent an opportunity to meet the childs teacher. This is not a meeting on a one to one basis as parent and teachers conference will be held next month. This is an opportunity for the teacher to explain his plans for activities for the coming year. PTA membership chairman Mrs. Judy Maddox will be there to join all the parents as members of the PTA. Membership dues are $1.50 per person. Also during the evneing the year book will be handed out. All parents are encouraged to attend and be an activity part of their childs education. New Girls New girls welcomed into the Mutual program were Linda Mike, an Indian placement daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Call; Helen and Dorothy Jones, daughters of Mrs. Sylvia Jones; president Mrs. Earlene Tami Peavey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Rasmussen; and Geri Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Clark. A special poem was read by In the Perry First ward fast meeting Sunday morning, Jayson Lund Henrie was given his name and a blessing by his father. Jayson is the son of Cortney and Carolyn Henrie. Allan Darrell Nelson, infant son of Gordon and Pauli Nelson, was given his name and a blessing also. Visiting at the home of the Max Nelsons on Sunday were Lois parents, Leon and Jennie Jensen from Layton. TEN AGO YEARS IN PERRY . . .Sept. 21, 1967 Jeff Thorne, son of Mrs. Lois Thorne, arrived home following a two and a half years mission which took him to New Zealand. On his return home he enjoyed a tour of the Fiji Islands, Samoa and the Hawaiian Islands. Bus Issue Last Thursday evening a PTA meeting of concerned parents met on the bus issue. Special guests who were in attendance during the evening were Dr. Dalton, superintendent of Box Elder county schools; Hal Rasmussen, over the school transportation department, and Perry City Mayor Jay Matthews. A discussion was held to explore the possibilities of busing the children across highway 89. A safety committee was chosen for further study on all alternative ways to cross them other than by bus. This committee is now working on this problem and the group has asked that the children continue to be bused until a better solution can be found. Members of the safety committee are Bob Hansen, Mrs. Kathy Forsgren and Mrs. Louise Francis. There have been a number of to Perry and new move-in- s several who have just changed their place of residency in the city. Jim and Linda Boyd and sons Mark and Todd have just moved into the furtherest house south on Cherry street. Jim is an engineer at Thiokol and Linda is a nurse at the new hospital in Brigham City. Jim is also well known to the little league footballers. He is the Brigham City Little League football director. We welcome this new family to Perry and hope they enjoy our community. More Welcome We also welcome Craig and Karen Hunt who have moved into the Jepperson apartment. Craig and Karen have just moved here from Hanksville. They are both attending college, one at Weber and the other at Utah State. Alan and Cheryl Simper and their little one have now moved into their new home along the highway. Alan and Cheryl must be glad to be back in Perry. Making moves to other homes in Perry have been Sam and Judy Bylsma and their family. They have bought the Clair Williams home and moved in this past week. The Dale Wagstaff family have left Perry to make their home in Bountiful. This will be closer to Dales work. They will be missed in Perry and we hope they return often for a visit. Ralph and Cora Vavricka have made the move across the bench to live in the Dale Wag-staf- f home. Get well wishes are sent out to Mrs. Sylvia Norman w.ho is confined to her home with a back injury. We hope she is soon up and around again. The Perry Second ward Young Womem held their New Beginnings program last Saturdays War- - Tuesday evening. The meeting was conducted by Young Womens Laurel president Susan Anderson.
