Sterling Bennett Elder Sterling Bennett ... to Korea A farewell service will be conducted Sunday in the Brigham City 12th ward at 4:30 p.m. for Sterling T. Bennett, son of Dr. and Mrs. S. John Bennett, prior to his departure for the Korea Seoul mission. Sterling is a graduate of Box Elder High school where he was presented the Cap Ferry Leadership Governmental Affairs and Best Actor awards. He was nominated as the Sterling Scholar in mathematics. He is a member of the National Honor society and is listed for two consecutive years in Whos Who Among American High School Students. Sterling is a junior at the University of Utah majoring in mathematics. He appeared in the musical production Oklahoma at the Jackson Hole Playhouse this past summer. He is an Eagle Scout and has earned his Duty to God award. Val Thurston Elder Val Thurston . . . Mexico call Elder Val Thurston, son of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin J. Thurston of 820 North Second West, Brigham City, has been called to serve in the Mexico-Torreo- n Mission. He will enter the Language Training mission in Provo on Oct. 6. His farewell will be held on Sunday at 6 p.m. in the Brigham City 18th ward chapel, 531 North First West. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. Cyclist in Ogden hospital Garland youth, Brett Merrill, was seriously injured Monday evening when he was thrown from the motorcycle he was riding. Trooper Larry Forsgren of the Utah Highway Patrol, said the youth was riding westbound on Seventh south on the grass on the roadway when he hit a gate hidden in the grass. The motorcycle flipped, throwing the driver over the front where he sustained head injuries, Forsgren said. The youth was transferred to St. Benedicts hospital in Ogden where he had been listed in critical condition, according to the Box Elder county sherA iffs office.
