They had a very lovely reception that evening at the local church. Back from Mexico of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Dallin just returned from a trip to Mexico. He traveled there with a group Jeff Dallin, son from his school. He stayed for 16 days and stayed with a family on a few of those days. He reported that he had a fun time! Mr. and Mrs. Harold Luke from Burley, Idaho spent the night at Mrs. Dollie Iversons on Monday. They were in the area on business. Mrs. Luke and Dollie are cousins. There was a free cancer clinic held at the Bear River church house last Monday. Mrs. Nadine Udy was in charge of this and there was quite a good turn out for this. There were approximately 60 women, mostly from the Bear River area, there for the cancer tests. All the tests were performed by nurses and they were very thorough in telling everyone how to detect if they have cancer. It was very worthwhile for those who attended this afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lewis just returned from a long vacaton that took them to parts of Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Montana. They spent a month traveling around sightseeing and visiting with members of their family. These proposals will be reviewed and selected only if such additional contract authority becomes available. Many young men competed in this program that was set on an Olympic type theme. The different wards each had four teams of three boys on each team that competed with other teams in the stake. The races that were run were the same as the ones that were ran at the local level. Two of the teams from Bear River placed in the finals. They consisted of Craig Lucas, Casey Porritt and Scott Talboe who took first place and Blair Christensen, Trent Hendrickson and Chipper Lipscomb who came in fourth place. These boys will go on to compete at the regional meet to be held at Dock flat in Mantua on July 16. Congratulations to the boys that competed and won on this day!
