Tonight, well put the scarey witches and cats in the other windows and once again we'll be ready for Halloween. I suppose the neighbors might wonder why a household where the occupants are well past the "trick or treat" age should go to such lengths for this autumn holiday. Well, there is a simple explanation. . Its a funny thing, but the snow creeping down on the north mountains and the frost-kille- d flowers in the back yard dont seem half so dreary when JACKIE NEWMAN AND KEVIN FORSGREN I can look at those Halloween decorations. . As we grow older, we tend to not "bother with such simple things. Why dont you go out and buy yourself a pumpkin and carve out a smiling face. At least theres a cotton plant bringing a touch of old south to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Midget in Brigham city growing in a bucket on the south porch, naturally. To the delight of her grandchildren, Dora Midget has nurtured the plants carefully all summer but laments that the frost of the fall season is nipping at the leaves and may mean that all the bolls wont ripen and pop open. They brought home a cotton plant from a trip to her girlhood home in Arkansas some three years ago, and were just experimenting when they planted some of them in the bucket last spring. Just as fall began arriving, one of the bollr popped into pretty white cotton. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Andrea-so- n of Bear River City have named their new baby boy Rory Dee.
