The celebration will conclude Womens Week in Utah, proclaimed by Gov. Calvin L. Marilyn is one of those gals that's full of energy plus she sews for her children, does all sorts of handiwork, delights in keeping the yard overflowing with lovely flowers, teaches the Sunbeam class in Primary, is a cub scout teacher, has a beautician shop in her home, entertains at parties frequently, keeps her home spotlessly clean, cooks and does canning and still appears so fresh and relaxed. Marilyn is a graduate of Bear River High school and LDS Seminary. She attended the Weber State college of beauty in Ogden. '"While my family is small I am not interested in doing too much beautician work, Marilyn said. "Before I was married I liked to prepare the evening she explained. "And meal (my mother worked), when I enrolled in college my roommate wasnt too fond of cooking so I cooked the meals and she cleaned up the mess afterwards. Im sharing one of our favorites for cookies which are so very, very good for holiday time and so specialy easy to make too! "I hope Box Elder Journal readers will enjoy these recipes, she said. CROCK POT MEAL Brown 2 lb. round steak and place in Crock Pot. Add: 1 onion quartered, 3 potatoes, quartered, 4 carrots cut in pieces, 1 small cabbage, quartered, 1 can tomato juice. Cook on low heat for S to 6 hours. NO FAIL FRENCH BREAD c. warm water, 2 pkgs. active dry yeast, ii 2 c. hot water, 3 T. sugar, 1 T. salt, d c. shortening, melted. 6 c. flour. Dissolve yeast in warm water. In large bowl combine hot water, sugar, salt, shortening and allow to stand until lukewarm. Add dissolved yeast and 3 c. flour, beat until smooth and well blended. Add remaining flour to make a soft dough that can be mixed with a spoon. Leave spoon in batter and allow dough to rest 10 min. Stir batter down, let dough rest again. Repeat process of stirring dough, followed by the 10 min. rest until it has been done a total of 5 times. Turn dough out on slightly greased board. Divide into two portions. Roll each portion into a 9 X 12 in. rectangle. Roll up in jelly roll style. Arrange each lengthwise on greased cookie sheet. Allow room for both loaves. Brush tops with beaten egg whites, then sprinkle with sesame seeds. With a sharp knife slash top diagonally about three times across each loaf and cover and let rise until double in size. About 30 min. to 1 hr. Bake in 400 degree oven for 30 to 35 min. or until done. Makes two loaves. one-thir- ALBANIA COOKIES cubes 3i 7 T. butter, 6 T. sugar, ground nuts, 3 c. flour. Mix together and roll in small balls then flatten slightly. Bake at 300 degrees for about 0 min. Should not brown on top, slightly on bottom of cookie. Roll in powdered sugar immediately, and again after cookie has cooled slightly. LIME JELLO SALAD 0 marshmallows in a 6 oz. pkg. of lime Dissolve jello. Let cool and set slightly. Add: 1 c. chopped cabbage, 1 c. chopped walnuts, 1 c. whipped cream, Yt c. salad dressing.
