Show I Brigham City, Utah Thursday, June 24, 1976 BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Sarah Yates, women's editor Party Line 723-36- lamiTODiifiTO By Ruth Phon Its unlucky and its unwieldy". Now if that description has you thoroughly confused Ill tell you what Im talking about. Its the $2 bill. In fact, if things dont improve it may not be here to stay. I read a report this week that its not moving as fast as the Federal Reserve Bank would like it to. The first batch of $225 million were swooped up as if by a giant vacuum cleaner. Now the banks just aren't ordering as many $2 bills as they t expected. The fact that many people still consider it to be unlucky may really be the answer to its slow acceptance. I never could figure out why it was considered unlucky. Just an old superstition, I guess. Now personally I think its a good thing, especially since the dollar bill wont buy you much any more. In fact, you might think of the $2 bill as a replacement for the $1 under our present inflation. And if you're worrying about it being unlucky just remember that not even a horeshoe is lucky all the time. As Evan Esar says If horseshoes are so lucky how is it that every horse that loses has four of them.1, Now if you'll pull up that easy chair Ill show you the kind of luck Ive been having on the Party Line wires this week. food family women social 4 Church rite weds couple Marriage vows were exchanged by Miss Lois Anne Burkholder of Rockledge, Pa., and Daniel Mark Christy of Southampton, Pa., in a candlelight ceremony performed June 12 at Holy Cross Lutheran church in Brigham City.
