Elder Garn has just returned after fulfilling an LDS Mission in Brazil-Poret- o Ale-- . gre. He is the son of Mr, and Mrs. Keith Garn. The Civic and Home Arts club held its installation banquet at the Cross Roads dining room Wednesday evening. Mrs. Elva Caldwell, president of the Northern District of Federated Womens' Clubs officiated at the installation ceremony. New officers are Mrs. Ruth Shumway, president; Mrs. Sue Poulter, vice president; Mrs. Rolaine Jensen, secretary; ' Mrs. Norma Holmgren, treasurer; Mrs. JoAnn Wood, his- torian. Retiring officers are Mrs. Charlotte Reeder, Mrs. Janet May, Mrs. Gloria Nelson, Mrs. Judy Bowcutt and Mrs. Paula Munns. The tables were attractively decorated in a bicentennial theme. A program consisting of trios by Miss Colleen Garfield, Miss Shelly Lewis and Miss Debbie Hirschi accompanied by Miss Kaylene Ashby were enjoyed. A dinner was served. Friday morning Mrs. Ruth Shumway attended a wedding ceremony in the LDS Temple in Logan where her nephew Scott Mackay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mackay of Rupert, Idaho claimed Miss Alaine Woodward, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Woodward of Paul, Idaho as his bride. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bowcutt visited Mr. and Mrs. Sam Forsgren in Corinne Saturday. Sam Forsgren is recuperating following surgery in the Cooley hospital in Brigham City. Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Nielson and grandson Brandon Cornwall, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Udy and two children, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Thompson attended a Thompson reunion held at the Layton park under the direction of Mr. and Mrs; Wesley Thompson of Roy. Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Thompson visited Mr. and Mrs. Frank Anema, Mr. and Mrs. Elzo Sessions and Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Germer in Ogden. Mrs. Zona Parkinson and daughters Teri Ann and Jamie sang a trio in a testimonial in Corinne Sunday evening honoring Elder Gary Kotter prior to his leaving to fulfill an LDS mission in Calgary, Canada. The trio was accompanied by Mrs. Catherine Limb. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sorenson and small daughter of Salmon, Idaho, Mr. and Mi's. Alan Ricks of Bdnson Ward and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Riggs of Logan visited Mr. and Mrs. Russell Rogers Saturday. Lori Rose of Brigham City has been spending several days visiting her grandmother Mrs. Hazel Rose. Her parents Mr. and Mrs. Larry Rose visited at the Hazel Rose home Sunday and Lori accompanied them home. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Jensen attended graduation exercises at the university of Utah in Salt Lake City Wednesday where their grandson Richard M. Jensen was one of the graduates. His father Lt. Col. (ret) Merrill Jensen administered the oath and Richard is now commissioned as an ensign in the Navy Air Corps. He will leave for duty in Pensicola, Fla. The Jensens make their home in Bountiful.
