John Lundblad, paitor of Holy Cross Lutheran church of Brigham City, has reiigned his position at the church in order to accept a call to the Church of the Redeemer in the Old City of Jerusalem! This commission is from the Division for World Mission and Ecumenism of the Lutheran church in America, the church body to which Holy Cross belongs as a congregation. Pastor Lundblad will be the pastor of a congregation of expatriate Americans in Jerusalem, in addition to doing information work among the tourists and visitors to this ancient city, and dialog work with Arabs, both Christian and Muslim. Lutherans have been active in the Middle East for many years, and in particular since 1948 when the Lutheran World federation was asked by the Red Cross to help in refugee work after the first MidEast war. The Church Council of Holy Cross has begun the process by which a new pastor will be coming to (he congregation, in consultation with the Pacific Southwest Synod of the Church. Pastor Lundblad will preach his last sermon on June 27 at the regular 9 a.m. worship service. Beginning July 2, interim pastoral services will be provided by the Rev. Charles Holland, who performed a similar service in early 1973 at Holy Cross. Worship times throughout the summer will remain at 9 a.m. each Sunday morning. 279-841- Alderogpte Methodist Every Sunday morning, the service of worship at the historic Methodist Episcopal church, Corinne, is held at 9:15 a.m. The building is located on the corner of Sixth and Colorado streets. The Corinne Methodist Episcopal church is not only the first Methodist church but the first Protestant church to be dedicated in Utah. More than a century old, it is also tbe oldest Protestant church building still standing ip Utah. The church is designated as an historical site by the Utah State Historical society. This Sundays service will be a tribute to fathers and their offspring. The meditation, A Fathers Love, will include a description of the many wonderful ways in which fathers continue to express and share their love. Recollections of growing up, adventures and misadventures of dads and their kids, tributes, praise and wisdom intended to speak to everyone will be presented in message and shared throughout the service. They had gone expressly to attend a Tolman family reunion, which Gerald Tolman chairmaned for this year. The Perrys visited friends in Helena, toured the Quake Lake area, and saw the Bicentennial Lewis and Clark statue in Ft. Benton during their trip. From Trip The Jess Earls have returned following a trip of two weeks in California. They visited with the Keith Burnham family and did ' many fun things. The Rupert Blackhams enjoyed a trip to Flaming Gorge for several days last week. The Dale Blackhams joined them in Salt Lake City. Highlight of the trip was watching the little granddaughters eat fish. Grandma Blackham said they really do like it!
