We had two very poor matches in the two-da- y tournament and both kids came back to do a find job. We recorded a number of pins and averaged over a takedown for each individual match; thats' the best weve done in a tournament this season. I was very happy with our placement. The champions all looked extremely sharp, especially Dan Marshall and Todd Williams. Roger Woodward also turned in a super performance, losing a close match to Bruce Zundel in the finals, 10-My major hope now is that we havent peaked to early. We truly believe that a season is a failure unless we perform well at the state meet. Our state seeding looks fairly good. Hubbard and Marshall will have a tough road but both are capable of placing if we wrestle to our potential. I was really happy with the draw for Williams, Weight and Hardy. With a good tournament and a little luck, each of them could be in the state finals. Its hard to place if youre not a Region One champ because of the tough competition in Salt Lake, but we will need scoring help from each of the wrestlers on the team. If we are to reach our goal of improving last years third-plac- e finish, we must get a total effort from, the entire team.
