The SUSC tournament attracted schools from Utah and Nevada with over 700 students participating. The tournaments triple entry format had some students giving an oration, running across campus for an extemp speech and finally finding a partner for a debate at another campus 13-1- 4. parti- - cipants, Poelman was the only one to win two trophies. With only 13 students competing, Box Elder filled eight semifinal and five final slots.
