Perry Pulse PTA carnival beckons by Mrs. Max Nelson Everyone in the community of Perry is invited to get into costume to set the mood for the annual Halloween carnival held at the Perry school each year. This years activities will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the school e room with supper being served. The menu will consist of chili, hot dogs, chili dogs, barbeques, drinks, cakes and pies. Also during the evening, delicious homemade candy multi-purpos- will be sold. Plan on bringing the entire family for supper out. Following the supper the costumes will be judged and prizes will be given for all ages includeach class, ing teen agers and adults. Games Open Games will then be open for all to enjoy and they will include darts, ring toss, bingo and cake walk along with a special game and the all for the time favorites, the fish pond and spook alley. According to Mrs. Marilyn Walker, Halloween chairman, this is an evening for the entire family, and everyone is invited to attend for supper and plan to spend the evening for lots of enjoyment. The Jensens are from Layton. A reminder to all residents of Perry that Tuesday is election day for three members of the City Council. The elections this year will be at the city hall and the polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. This year there are six men running, three from the citizens party and three from he peoples party. Members of the citizens ticket are Joe Heinzman, Dave Hewlet and Bruce Tams. The Peoples ticket consists of Roger Nelson, Rex Osmond and J.J. Christensen. Jarvis Facer is a lifetime resident of Willard. He and his wife Rowena and his children Kelley, Julie and Sydnee live at 240 North Second West. Jarv decided to run because he wanted to get involved. His plans for the future if elected include orderly growth in the community while maintaining a rural atmosphere with necessary improvements as required. Norris Hubbard and his wife Lu live at 1094 South Main. They Lauie Ann, have five children Jill, Julie, Kimberley and a brand new son who they have not yet named. His main concerns include a more open meeting of the city council with more involvement by the people as a whole. Hed like to represent the people and if elected would listen to their input. Sue Miller is the only women running for office. She and her husband Dan have two daughters Shelia and Mitzi. They live at 290 East First South. Sue was born and raised in Oklahoma. She lived in Evanston, Wyo. and Salt Lake City before moving to Willard. Sue feels that she has something to contribute to the youth of the community. And for that reason decided to run. Sue feels that as taxpayers all should be kept informed and not kept in the dark. If she were elected and someone were to call her on a problem, whether or not she agreed on the viewpoint, she would feel dutybound to bring it up in the council meeting. Arnell Wells and his wife Eleanor live at 1244 North Main. They have three children, Jeff, Terry and Travis. Arnell is a lifetime resident of Willard and he feels that the main issue in the campaign this year concerns a better water system. Supports Youth Norris is a lifetime resident and he felt that it was necessary to have a few changes in government and thus he decided to run. Norris wants to help make our city an enjoyable place to be raised. If he is elected he will support the youth of our community in all their activities. Melvin Judson and his wife Nona live at 56 East Center. They have one daughter living at home, Debra, and one married daughter, Mrs. Pam Melvin was born and raised in Perry. He has lived in California before moving to Willard. With the encouragement of good friends he decided to run for the office of city councilman.
