Garland Gazette Brigham City, Utah Thursday, June 5, 4 babies blessed during Sacrament li by Flo Munson Four babies were blessed in the Second ward Sacrament meeting Sunday morning. The small son of Mr. and Mrs. William Rose was blessed by his father and given the name of Robert William Rose. Immediately following the meeting a dinner party was held at the Rose home. Attending were Vernon Dahle, Mr. and Mrs. David Dahle and two children of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Don Moss and Dennis Dahle of Rockland, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Holdaway Timothy Raymond Holdaway, 81, of Rockland, Idaho, formerly of Tremonton and Bothwell, died of cancer Sunday, June 1, 1975, at Bannock Memorial hospital in Pocatello. He was born June 18, 1893, in Deweyville, a son of Timothy Daniel and Elmena Mary Ann Petersen Holdaway. He married Florence Leona Hansen on Jan. 12, 1916, in Preston, Idaho. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS temple on April 23, 1927. He was reared and educated in Tremonton and attended Brigham Young college in Logan. He was a retired rancher and had worked as a mail carrier for Rural Route 2 in Tremonton for 47 years. He was a high priest in the LDS church and had served as a Sunday school and priesthood teacher. He had served a Bear River Stake mission and had been a home teacher. He had received the Silver Beaver scouting award. Surviving are his widow of Rockland; four sons and one daughter, Jack R. Holdaway, Mrs. Carol Bass, both of Salt Lake City; Lowell LaVon Clark Elery Holdaway, Holdaway, both of Rockland; Lyle Curtis Holdaway, Bothwell; seven grandchildren and Eithel W. Garbanati Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. LaVon Crystal, Mrs. Ray Tremonton; Mrs. Forsberg, Clifford (Vaudis) Phipps, both of Ogden. Funeral services will be conducted today (Thursday) at 1 p.m. in the Bothwell Ward chapel with Bishop Boyd S. Mapble officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery. Emorett S. Johnson Emorett S. Johnson Emorett Stoddard Johnson, Tremonton died Tuesday, June 3, 1975 at McKay-De- e hospital in Ogden after a short illness. She was born July 26, 1903 in Magrath, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Joseph Smith and Susan Ellen Thomas Stoddard. She 'Was married to Heber Guy Johnson June 14, 1923 in the Logan Temple. He died May 10, 71, of Elizabeth F. Burbank Mrs. Elizabeth Facer Housley ' Burbank, 81, formerly "of Brigham City, died Saturday, May 31, 1975, in an Ogden nursing home following an extended illness. Mrs. Burbank was born June 22, 1893, in Cherry Creek, Idaho, a daughter of William J. and Caroline Williams Facer. She was married to Joseph LeRoy Housley in the Salt Lake LDS temple on Feb. 10, 1911. He died Aug. 12, 1962. She was later married to Henry Burbank. He died in August of 1971. She had lived in Willard, Brigham City and Ogden. She was a member of the LDS church and had been active in Relief soceity. She had worked in the Primary and had been a member of the Singing Mothers. of She was a member Daughters of Utah Pioneers and Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary. Surviving are two sons and Joseph F. Housley, Layton; L. Bernard Housley, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Mac (Berniece) McCellan, Ogden; Mrs. Ruby Turner, Burbank, Calif.; Mrs. Kenneth (Margie) Wallace, Clinton; Mrs. Kathryn Wilson, Folsom, 65 Calif.; 22 grandchildren; four daughters, three Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters, Vance Facer, Morro Bay, Calif.; Moyle Facer, Malad, Idaho; Parker Facer, Ogden; Mrs. Chloa Bailey, Pocatello, Idaho; Mrs. Mae Marsh, Brigham City. Funeral services were held Wednesday in Ogden with Bishop Robert H. Housely officiating. Interment was in Willard City cemetery. 1968. They had lived in Richmond before coming to Tremonton. She was a charter member of the Tremonton Womens Civic league. She was a member of the Tremonton First LDS ward. She has served in the past as Primary teacher and YWMIA teacher. She was a member of singing mothers, a Relief society visiting teacher and a Relief society hostess. Surviving are two sons and three daughters, Dr. Jack Stoddard Johnson and Mrs. Owen L. (Jill) Cannon, both of Dr. Thomas Tremonton; Stoddard Johnson of Logan; Mrs. Floyd D. (Tess) Nielson of Salem, Ore.; Mrs. William Dean (Peggy) Taylor of Kaysville; 14 grandchildren, three great grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother and three sisters, Noel T. Stoddard of Richmond; Mrs. J. Done (Essie) Thornley of Kaysville; Mrs. D. W. (Edith) Ansley and Moss Alice Irene Stoddard, both of Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Tremonton First ward chapel. Friends may call at Rogers mortuary in Tremonton Friday 7 to9 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial in the Riverview cemetery in Tremonton. Chicharello Sorensen Elias Herbert Sorensen, 64, Hyrum, died June 2, 1975, at home of a heart attack. He was born Feb. 12, 1911, in Hyrum, to Julius and Caroline Christensen Sorensen. He was a member of the LDS church and a farmer. He served as a director with the Hyrum Irrigation company and South Cache Livestock association. He was a member of the Hyrum Saddle club. Among survivors are a sister, Mrs. Elmer (Myrtle) Mor-tense- Bear River City, and a stepsisters, LaVina Hansen, Brigham City. Funeral services are scheduled today (Thursday) at noon in the Hyrum Secortd LDS Ward chapel. Friends may call an hour before services at Thompson Funeral home. Burial will be in Hyrum City cemetery. Keith Rose, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Rose and family of Garland. The small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell McCann was blessed by her father and given the name of Andrea McCann. Dinner guests at the McCann home following the meeting were Mr. and Mrs. Mark McCann of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. LaVar McCann and three daughters of Smithfield, Mr. and Mrs. Randy Perkins of North Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Euvene Halford and Mrs. Margaret McGinty of Garland. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kent Hughes was blessed by her father and given the name of Katie Sue Hughes. A family party followed which included Mr. and Mrs. Jack Germer of Deweyville and Mr. and Mrs. Durrell Hughes of Garland. Monique Johnston was the name given to the small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Johnston who was blessed by her father. The Johnstons are newcomers to the Garland Second ward. Mrs. Jennie Gephart spent the weekend visiting her son and daughter-in-laMayor and Mrs. Clyde Gephart and family . Onawa Roberta Chicharello, daughter of Calvin G. and Carla Paula Narcomey Chicharello, 4943 West 4100 South, Granger, formerly of Brigham City, died of strangulation at her home Sunday morning, June 1, 1975. She was born Aug 30, 1974, in Brigham City. Surviving are the parents and a sister, Annette Chicharello, Granger; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Felix Chicharello, Twin Buttes, N.M.; Mr. and William Mrs. Narcomey, Brigham City. Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) in Gallup, N.M. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial park in Mentmore, N.M. Eithel Lilly (Doll) Wade Garbanati, 76, of Snowville, died Monday June 2, 1975 at the Bear River Valley hospital of cancer. She was born Dec. 24, 1898 in Pleasant View, to George M. and Mary Ann Harriet Barnett Wade. She was married to James Henry Garbanati Jr. May 28, 1914 in Stone, Idaho. was later The marriage solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He died March 28, 1965. She was a member of the Curlew LDS ward, and had served as Sunday school Christine (Jill Goodrich) Williams. Mrs. Fern Huish and Mrs. Mary Ellen Giles attended a ceremony and reception for Mrs. Huishs grandson Bob Huish (son of Mr. and Mrs. Sterline Huish) of Bountiful who claimed Lanette Nelson as his bride in rites performed in the Salt Lake Temple. The reception was held in the Sandy cultural hall. joined by Lindas husband Jim Hill and their children Holly, Brent and Brock. President and Mrs. James White and son Jimmy accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Mark Richards and daughter Jamie of Riverside and Mr. and Mrs. Alan James of Logan visited Mr. and Mrs. David Archibald in Clarkston they returned to the James home in Logan for dinner. A. R. Hodge was operated on for major surgery at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City last week. His wife has been staying in Salt Lake City while her husband was hospitalized. Mrs. Michael Mrs. Visiting Lucetta Thompson during the week were Mrs. Gaye Pennock and five children and Mrs. Blanche Hansen of Ogden and Mrs. Laura Kunz of Bern, Idaho. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Walter Burns and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Thomas Monday were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Burns of Bountiful. Mrs. Linda Hill and son Tyler of Las Vegas have been spending a few days visiting Lindas parents Mr. and Mrs. Walter Burns. This week they were Overnight Guest Mrs. Hazel Rose was an overnight guest at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Buttars in Logan' Friday. Friday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Buttars and Mrs. Rose accompanied by Mrs. Maurice Blau of Roy enjoyed a dinner party at Marvs cafe in Smith-field- . The occasion was Mrs. Buttars 84th birthday an Snowville; grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren. Also surviving is a stepmother Mrs. Jeanette Wade of Ogden. Two brothers, Alton Wade and Wallace Wade, both of Ogden; three half brothers and two half sisters, Blaine Wade and Robert .Wade, both of Ogden; Dean Wade of Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. William (Shirley) Rhine of Layton; and Mrs. Jack (Annabeth) Farr of California. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in the Curlew LDS ward chapel in Snowville. Friends may call at Rogers Mortuary in Tremonton Thursday 7 to 9 p.m. and at the Curlew ward Relief society room Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment will be in the Snowville cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Coombs attended the performance of Bye, Bye Birdie at Lagoon Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. V. W. Johns visited Mrs. C. E. Smith at the Logan hospital Sunday evening and report she is feeling better. Attending the annual alumni banquet held in the Skyroom at Weber State college Wednesday evening were Mr. and Mrs. V. W. Johns. Also attending were Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Rogers of Tremonton. The Ladies Self Culture club will hold their annual Friends Day at the Bowcutt Reception the weekend visiting Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Thompson were Mr. and Mrs. Neal Thompson and family of Delta and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Thompson and family of Pocatello. Mrs. Maude Tarbet of Ogden visited last week with Mr. and Mrs. Lee Tarbet. The Pinochle club met with Mrs. Nephi Westergard as hostess Thursday evening. Mrs. Lee Tarbet was a special guest. Prizes went to Mrs. Tarbet, Mrs. Kitty Minson and Mrs. Leo Godfrey. A delicious luncheon was served. Croft Dorothy Young Croft, 65, of Ogden, was dead on arrival at St. Benedicts hospital in Ogden following a short illness. She was born Dec. 6, 1909 in Ogden, a daughter of Fera S. and Margaret Lockhead Young. She was married to Donald Peckenpaugh, on Dec. 31, 1929 in Ogden. They were later divorced. She then married Bruno J. Strogolski in Aug. of 1945. They were later divorced. She then married Gordon Y. Croft in October of 1951 in Morgan. She lived most of her life in Ogden. She had lived in Tremonton and Boston, Mass. She had attended Ogden City schools and Weber State college and was a member of the Ogden 9th LDS ward, active in Relief society, was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, the BPOE Does auxiliary 719 and had been past president of the Cosmopolitan club. Surviving are her husband of Ogden, a son and three daughters, John Y. Peckenpaugh of LaMesa Calif.; Mrs. Lou Dona of Caskey Sacramento, Calif. ; Mrs. Edwin (Linda) Loolis of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Mrs. Sam (Janna) Dahle of Hyrum; 10 grandchildren, a brother and three Wis. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist and Sons Colonial chapel in Ogden. Friends may call at the moituary Thursday from 6; 30 to 8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services.
