Harris Brad Gibbs claimed the State championship in the 138 pound wrestling class at the Special Events center at the University of Utah Saturday evening. He wrestled two matches Thursday, one Friday and the championship Saturday night. Brad is a senior at Bear River High school and has been active in sports throughout his high school career. He is an active member of the LDS church and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Gibbs of Portage. A celebration dinner at a Salt Lake City cafe was enjoyed by family members and friends following the event. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs, sons, Brad and Burke, Shanne, Janet Cowley, ValDee Gibbs and Karen Starr. daughter, Among others attending the wrestling matches Saturday were Brads grandmother, Mrs. Wm. L. Gibbs, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Allen of Portage and Mrs. Dick Green of Tremonton. Wedding Ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hoskins attended the wedding ceremony uniting M. Brent Cole and Miss Sandra Hoskins at the Ivy House in Ogden Fridy evening. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hoskins. They also attended the reception honoring the couple which followed. Among others attending the reception were Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Harris. Mrs. Thelma D. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ward of Idaho Falls brought Mrs. Wards parents, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Conley to their home here after spending the past three months with them. Mrs. Conley underwent surgery at the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City Oct. 29 and her daughter has cared for her since she was released from the hospital. High Counselor, George Gardner and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gleed of Malad were the speakers at Sacrament meeting here Sunday evening. Elder Devere Harris was the guest speaker at the Idaho University Stake, Institute of Religion Friday. A forum is being held each Friday for a period of eight weeks with guest speakers. Mrs. E. Wynn John was a speaker at her uncle, Martin Goddards funeral service Tuesday, held at Larkin Mortuary in Salt Lake City. She accompanied Malad relatives to Salt Lake City. Host Club Meeting Mrs. Eliza Knudsen hosted the Bunco Club at her home Wednesday evening. Prizes were won by Geneva John, Elna Allen, LaVerne Hoskins and Ethel Hall. Honor Cadet Randall is the son of Robert and Carlton Ezell Reiser, 1060 Main No. 76, Brigham City. He is in the Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training corps, is an honor cadet and has received an aptitute award. His major field of interest is fish, game and wildlife management. Kevin is the son of Ronald and Marilyn O'Dell, 917 Hillview, year stationed in Greece. He received a certificate of achievement for meritorious service as a team chief in the 18th field artillery detachment and a letter of commendation for his detachment commander. He is a graduate of Box Elder But, says Dexter Pitman, Resources northern regional biologist, the harvest was only 200 less than it was in 1972. This year 5,858 anglers took 46,848 of the small white fish, compared to the just over 47,000 cisco taken in 1972. Pitman cites several reasons for the lower take this year. The spawning run this year probably started about Jan. 12 or 13 and was actually peaking when we though it was starting on Jan. 17.
