They visited Mrs. Leona Strong in Portland. They also enjoyed salmon fishing and catching in Ilwalco. They came home with 75 pounds of salmon. They gathered wild blackberries and picked their own pears near Westwood. Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Miller and family Sunday were Mrs. Millers mother Mrs. Leona Standing of Ogden, Mrs. Millers sister Mrs. Verna McGraw of Roy and Mrs. Eileen Kinne and son Byran of Ogden. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. M. P. Christensen are Mr. and Mrs. Edward Corliss of Yucaipa, Calif. Saturday evening Mr. and of Melvin Mrs. Hoopes Freedom, Wyo., Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ward and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Johnson of Bear River City joined them for a dnner Sunday evening party. President and Mrs. DeVere Harris of Portage joined them for a luncheon. Mr. and Mrs. Corliss are also spending a few days visiting their friends Mr. and Mrs. Arch Showell. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Peterson in Brigham City Tuesday were Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Shuman. Darwin Dr. Mrs. and Mr. and Mrs. Woodbury, Garland Puzey accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Preston Checketts of Bear River City attended an in Spokane. Mrs. Jack Shumway spent Thursday and Friday visiting her daughter Vera Gene Shumway in Salt Lake City. Vera Gene was observing her birthday anniversary. Mrs. Scott Maughan and son Rick of Montclair, Calif., and Miss Anita Kay Anderson of South Pasadena, Calif., visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Anderson and family last week. Mrs. Eleena Rogers, a convert from Finland whose husband is a Seminary teacher in Brigham City was the guest speaker in Sixth ward Sacrament meeting Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Hunter and two children left Monday for their home in Berkeley after visiting Mrs. Hunters parents Mr. and Mrs. Jack Shumway. They also attended the Expo 74 with their swine exhibits. M.R. Peterson of Tremonton took the first place honors with his Champion Hampshire sow and Reese Peterson, also of Tremonton, placed first in fitting and showing in the swine exhibits. They enjoyed dinner and a very nice visit. Enjoys Stay Mrs. Frank Aokie enjoyed a the San Franten day stay-i- n cisco, Calif, area. She went to the World Womens Buddhist Conference. She spent approximately four days at the conference. She reported meeting many women and stated it was very interesting. Then she went and stayed with her niece, Nancy Usui in Berkley, Calif. She attended Nancys wedding and then returned home. She also took in the sights and enjoyed Lamb Outdoors Rasmussen Jane pleased with the success. There was a contest between the classes for which class had the most parents attend. The First Grade won with the most parents in attendance. There also is a prize for the most parents to join the PTA. The class with the most to join will win a treat. The Winner of this contest is still being determined. Saturday night the Elders Quoram held a dinner. The dinner was cooked by Abe and Elaine Garcia. The menu consisted of Mexican food. There was enchiladas, tacos, and burritos. Dessert was made up of ice cream and cookies. There was approximately 21 in attendance. couples Everyone reported the food was delicious and was enjoyed by all. Keith Kendrick who has been attending the University of Utah in Salt Lake City is articulation conference at Weber college in Ogden Tuesday evening. Mrs. Loretta Hansen read poetry written by several people she had met personally at BYU. Light refreshments were served. Tremonton-Garland The Bridge club met with Mrs. Clarence Bowcutt as hostess Wednesday evening. Mrs. Nephi Westergard was a special guest. Prizes went to Mrs. Kleon Kerr and Mrs. Reuben Baer. A dainty dessert was served. The Bear River High school faculty and their partners held at North Park a cook-ou- t Wednesday evening for Ray Knudsen and his wife.
