Show Portage Pennings 2 Tremonton girls ! John's visit Saturday in Bountiful and SLC by Maude R. Harris Mr. and Mrs. Ora H. John visited in Bountiful Saturday with Mr. Johns aunt, Mrs. LaPreal Frandsen and in Salt Lake City with Bill and Klea home. They have lived here for the past three and a half years. They have built a new home near Custer. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fugate of Dewey, Okla., Earl Fugate of Bartlesville, Okla. and John Shepherd, of Big Sandy, Wyo. were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Henry and family and Mrs. Edith Shepherd of West Fielding. Among those who attended funeral services for Lawrence R. Wells at Cherry Creek Wednesday were: Mr. and Mrs. Ora H. John, Katherine Clark, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Gibbs, Fay Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Harris, LaVerne Hoskins, Ethel Hall. Dr. and Mrs. Max Conley of Bountiful were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Conley. Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Josh Hawks visited in Rexburg, Idaho with Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Hawks and family. Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. Wynn John were family members, Mr. and Mrs. Skip Chandler of Salt Lake City, Marlene John of Laketown and Peggy Sue John of Logan. Mr. and Mrs. Bobbie Nielsen of Salt Lake City were dinner guests of Mr. Nielsens uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Devere Harris. Mrs. Robert (Sandra) Callister has returned to her home in Ogden Monday after receiving treatment at the e hospital in Ogden for the past two weeks and has been seriously ill. She is the daughter of Mr. and McKay-De- Mrs. Glen Morris. They have spent much time with her and the five Callister children including a new baby daughter. er Visits Grandmother Miss Julee Hawks spent the past week in Midvale visiting with her grandmother, Mrs. Jo Morris. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell C. Hall returned home Sunday evening from a trtp with the Senior Citizens group to Expo 74, the Pendleton Roundup and many points of Interest during the past week. They report a very pleasant trip. Devere Harris spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Pocatello North Stake Conference. He and Elder Delbert the L. Mrs. E. Wynn John, J, Neal John and Miss Susan of Deweyville attended the State Fair in Salt Lake City Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hoskins attended the Hoskins family reunion in Roy Saturday. Gail Wiser of Twin Falls, Idaho, spent Saturday visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester P. Neal while her husband, Lynn spent the day with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Wiser of Lewiston. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Harris, accompanied by Gloria Gleed and Hazel Millward of Malad, Idaho and Kay Williams of Salt Lake City visited the widow and family of Louis Reese at the Peterson Mortuary in Brigham City, Friday evening. in reorganizing the Stake during that time. Rutter of Malad, Idaho Saturday evening and the group went to Pocatello, Idaho where they attended an Open House in honor of Stephen Dredge and Janile Christensen Dredge who were united in marriage at the Idaho Falls LDS temple Saturday morning. The bridegroom is the son of the late Nathan Dredge and Mrs. Dredge and the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christenson of Santa Clara, Calif. The Open House was hosted by the bridegrooms mother at her home. Mr. and Mrs. Devere Harris were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Merwin P. Christensen of Tremonton Sunday evening at their home. Sunday guests of Mrs. Eliza Knudsen were Mr. and Mrs. Roger Malan and daughter and Mr. Malans aunt of Ogden and Mrs. Velma Evans of Malad, Elder William Harrison, son of Dr. and Mrs. E.B. Harrison of 302 North 2nd East, Brigham City, has returned home after completing an LDS mission in Pennsylvania. He will report his mission at a testimonial to be held Sunday, Sept. 22, at 6:30 p.m. at the Brigham City Eighth ward with Bishop R. Dean Udy presiding. While on his mission he served as District and Zone and Financial Leader Secretary. He labored in the Punxsutawney, Valley Forge, Erie and Gettysburg areas. Harrison plans to attend BYU this fall. All friends and relatives are invited to attend the welcome home on Sunday. Music society to hold meeting on Sept. 20 The Cecilian Music society will hold their September meeting Friday, Sept. 20 at 1 p.m. at the home of Jane Lemon in Willard. Hostess for the meeting will be Jane Lemon with Lucille Hansen. The program will be based upon, Music of our Century. Lucille Hansen wi'l deliver the lesson on the music era of 1900 to 1915 which was a time of Ragtime and Optimism. Vocal selections will be presented by Connie Beard and Charlene Dunn with piano duets by Naone Godfrey and Lucille Hansen. The society is looking forward to an enjoyable year of learning and listening to the rich musical heritage that has filled the past century.
