Show Fielding Flashes! Garns have visitors, Mildred Smith home by Flo Munson Arriving from Hinsdale, N. H. Sunday evening to spend a week visiting Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Garn and family was Mrs. Bertha Richardson. Returning home Thursday after spending the past six weeks in California was Mrs. Mildred Smith. She visited her and daughher Mr. anf Mrs. Dick (Ivaloo) Kuisel and family in Garden Grove. She also visited her brother Mr. and Mrs. and sister-in-laLee Jensen and her sister Mrs. Cecelia Adams at Lake Alman. Among points of interest she visited (along with Dick and Ivaloo and family) were Yosemite Park, Sequoia National Park and in Southern California. Dick and Ivaloo and their family accompanied her home to spend two weeks visiting relatives in this area. Enroute home they spent sometime visiting Mrs. Smiths and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Earl (Sherrie) Church and family in Boise, Idaho. Friends of Sterling Burton will be interested to know he underwent major surgery at the Holy Cross hospital in Salt Lake City last week. He is reported to be getting along satisfactorily. Spending Saturday through Monday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Munson and family were Mr. and Mrs. Rex Munson of National City, Calif., Judy Munson and Erlene Durrant, students at BYU in Provo. The two men are brothers. Saturday evening they enjoyed a dinner party at Maddox Ranch House in Perry. Mrs. Voylet Grover, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Grover and family, Mr. and Mrs. Claine Grover and family along with Mr. and Mrs. Verl Grover and family of Brigham City and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Grover and family of Bear River City joined other members of the Grover family at for a two day Lava Hot Springs last week. Dinner Party Spending Wednesday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dale Hansen and family in Brigham City were Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Mason. A dinner party was enjoyed at the Idle Isle Cafe. Valerie Nye of Issaquah, Wash, is spending a few weeks visiting her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Garn and other relatives in this area. Thursday she accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Terry Lewis and family, Mrs. P. R. Peterson of Fielding and Sheran and Sherrie Steimpson of Tremonton to Bear Lake. They also visited Minatonka Cave. Saturday she was an overnight guest of her grandmother Mrs. Alice Nye in Garland. Friday she accompanied her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Garn to the Golden Spike Monument site in Promontory for a picnic lunch. Spending Saturday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lewis in Malad, Idaho, were Mr. and Mrs. Terry Lewis and children Scot and Gina. Mrs. Wesley Tarbet of Smith-fiel- d spent Thursday visiting her neice Mrs. Rick Kent and family. Celebrate Birthday Thursday Mrs. Madge Anderson and Mrs. Lori Anderson joined Mr. and Mrs. Leo Earl, Mrs. Connie Sorenson and Mrs. Shelley Barber of Logan for a dinner party at Juniper Inn in Smithfield. The occasion was Mrs. Andersons birthday anniversary. Kevin Garn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Darvel Garn underwent major surgery at the Valley Hospital in Tremonton last week. He returned to his home Friday and is reported to be getting along nicely. Dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Mason Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Dent Mason of Ogden. Teri and Tye Robbins of Granger are spending this week with their grandmother Mrs. Voylet Grover. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Mason enjoyed dinner at Sherwood Hills in Sardene Canyon Sunday evening. Overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Uel Garn Wednesday were Mr. and Mrs. Lamont Hodges of Dubois, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Steven Winward and four children of Fredonia, Ariz. have been spending a few days visiting Mrs. Winwards parents Mr. and Mrs. Glen Udy enroute to their home after spending the summer months in Moscow, Idaho where Steven has been attending classes at the University. The Christensen boys Eugene and Dennis took care of the paper route while they were away. To err is human and news reporters are no exception, especially this one. In my last report I listed Lynn Stewart as being from Minneapolis when is he from actually Bloomington, Illinois. The week before that I reported the Weidmans and the Mateasens as attending the Nelson reunion when actually the Weidmans were visiting the Mateasens and the Roy Bragger family attended the Nelson reunion, oh well. Ursel and Sarah Chidester and aunt Peggy Chidester from Salt Lake City visited with Sarahs sister Carrie Christensen last Monday. A. Ray Frosts parents the Ivan Frosts of South Ogden visited Rays and his family last Saturday afternoon. Moves to City Alvin Jensen helped Cliffton Mateasen move his trailer house into Brigham City last Thursday. Mr. Mateasen is going to see if he will like to live in Brigham City better than the old home town. Visitors at Family Together All but one member of the Reed Munns family visited with Carolyn and Fred Jensen in Moscow, Idaho recently. And all 16 family members attended the Worlds Fair in Spokane. Julie Smith of Cardston, Canada, who is attending school at USU in Logan has been spending the summer with the Gordon Holmgren family. Mrs. Carol Weight from Tremonton presided at a tea in honor of her daughter Paula Anderson recent bride of James Anderson. The event was held Thursday Aug. 1 at the cultural hall in Bear River City. Lovely gifts were given to the new couple and delicious refreshments were served. The Alvern Davis family are spending Friday and Saturday at Tony Grove Lake in Logan Canyon. Ida the Christensen home Sunday were her granddaughter and husband and two children the Wayne Johnsons of Layton. Mrs. Ella Von Staples of Ogden spent a few days visiting her daughter Myrtle Anderson. Myrtle took her home Monday. Mary S. Anderson drove to Preston early Sunday morning to visit at the Wyne Merrill home. Other visitors there were her grandson David, his wife and baby and her granddaughter Mary Ann, all of Denver, Colo. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Archibald and Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Archibald and children of Brigham City spent several days last week in Wyoming on a fishing trip. Mrs. Ronald Leonard has been spending considerable time with her mother Mrs. Rilda Kilpack in Brigham City who has been in the hospital but is now home feeling better. te Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Brown and daughter Laurel of Huntsville, Alabama and little Miss Marla Berry of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi are visitors at the L.W. Iverson, Boyd Hawkes and Pete Misrasi homes for two weeks. While they were here they visited with Ronda Silva and son BuShawn and Danielle Spittler and daughter Alethea of Brigham City. Christensen on Monday and then the county officers met at the home of Dollie Iverson that same afternoon to tie up the loose ends of their plans to county convention to be held in Corinnp on Saturday. Melba Checketts is home from the hospital feeling considerably better after receiving severe burns at the celebration on July 24. Ruth Munns and Helen Hansen were two of the officers released. We are sorry to see them leave that organization because they have done such a fine job over the years they have been working as officers. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Nessler reported having had a delightful time on their recent trip. They left July 27 and spent the first night in Nebraska. Sunday morning they called Ada and Chester Stander in McCook, Nebraska and had an interesting conversation with them. They then headed for Nauvoo. They crossed the entire state of Missouri with out seeing a green thing. The land was burned up from lack of rain. They visited John and Alva Hardy at the Browning house. They were happy and surprized to see Nola and Richard and proved to be excellent guides. They visited in Oregon, Wisconsin with Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Brown, Richards sister.
