Show BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah Good Cooks Thursday, August 15, 1974 'Thoroughly Modern Millie by Flo Munson Upon entering the home of Mrs. Ryan (Millie Huggins) Lee at 889 North Second West in Brigham City you find yourself wondering how one pair of hands can possibly keep a home so immaculate, care for a husband and three small children, teach two and do private in junior Sunday school, secretarial work and yet Millie does each of these to perfection! She was born in Tremonton. However, her parents with their family moved to Brigham City when Millie was only four years of age. Her husband is employed with the Farmers Group Insurance. Millie has an identical twin Martha lives in Logan. A coincidence is that Martha and her husband were married on Millie and Ryans fifth wedding an- Rees family holds reunion ' '' - , . KAROLE LYNNE KOLTS AND MICHAEL NELSON Temple rite couple in will wed Was Typist was employed as a typist at the Box Elder News and Journal for several years (which I thoroughly enjoyed) prior to going to Thiokol where I am now a senior secretary in public relations for Jim Brown, Millie told me. Needless to say she is delighted to be working for Jim who is so congeniel and competent, so understanding and In visiting with Millie I find her hobbies and interests are many. She enjoys preparing delectable dishes for her husband and children. She has a flair for creating original snacks to tempt appetites. I mid-Aug- ust and Mrs. Robert W. Kolts, Bountiful, announce the marriage of their daughter Karole Lynne to Michael G. Mr. down-to-eart- Nelson, son of Glen J. Nelson of Brigham City and Joyce H. Nelson of Mantua. The couple will be married on Thursday, Aug. 15, in the Salt Lake LDS temple. A garden reception in their honor will be held that evening at the home of the bride's parents in Bountiful. Miss Kolts is a Cooking a Challenge Cooking is a challenge, she admits and laughingly recalled, As a young bride I once tried making a rice casserole like my mother-in-lamade which I knew was a special favorite of my husband. She willingly shared her recipe with me and I followed it very carefully (I thought) however my casserole was a complete disaster it was not thick and nice like it should have been do you know what? Iforgot to add the rice! Millies own recipes were evidently just what Ryan needed he gained 40 pounds in the first two months after their marriage. The Lees are parents of three adorable children Tiffany iy2, Daren, 6, and Charise, 4. Millie is fond of sewing for herself and her children. As a family the Lees enjoy camping out. Millie and Ryan are also taking up skiing. Theres no doubt about it our cook this week is a graduate of Viewmont High school and the LDS Business college. She is currently employed by Utah Printing company. The prospective bridegroom is a 1967 graduate of Box Elder High school. He served an LDS mission to Florida. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Utah in 1973 and was designated a Phi Beta Kappa member, being commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the US Army in 1974. Needless to say the Bear River Spurs Club meeting was cancelled. We met again at 8 a.m. at Dock Flats above Mantua. Our purpose was to ride our horses to Willard Peak. The ride was cool and crisp and fun. We learned to identify many plants and flowers which were very abundant. There had been a rainstorm the night before and everything was covered with dew and looked so' green and clean. When we reached the top we ate our lunch and looked around. This reporter experienced an indescribable feeling whn she looked out over the valleys below. You never really know how small you are until you put yourself in relationship to the universe. There were many beautiful flowers all around and we had a really nice ride. The club members going on this ride were Jeffrey Dallin, Julie Lucus, Susan Grimmett and Sylvia Grimmett. We were accompanied by our leader, Mr. Roger Dallin, and Mr. Ken Paskett and Mrs. LaRee Lucus. Beat with mixer: cream cheese, milk, and lemon juice, beat until creamy, then pour evenly over crust and chill in refrigerator. Fruit Filling: 1 pkg. Danish Dessert Mix, 1 c. water, 2 boxes hulled strawberries. Add Danish Dessert to water, bring to a boil and let thicken, then cool. Add strawberries and pour over cream cheese filling and chill.
