Roy Breagger and family attended and Violet N. Jensen was also able to be with them. Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Christensen dropped in to pay a Visit on Carrie Christensen after a two weeks stay at Ponds Lodge. Jessie B. Draper of Great Falls Montana sister of May Christensen came July 5 to attend the Bassett reunion. She then left on the sixth for California to attend the funeral of her twin sisters husband. She returned to Utah and spent three days with May before leaving for Texas to attend one of her grandsons wedding. Anton Christensen spent the last week with his parents Loren and May Christensen. He lives in Provo. On July 6 the C. C. Johnsen family reunion was held at the A hall. cultural good ' of representation family members were present. LaRon Johnsen of Logan was in charge of the program and presented colored picture slides which he took of the ancestral home in Denmark. Vere Johnsen presented the small fry with popcicles and a lovely meal was served. Margaret and Rudgar Ipsen returned from Montana where they stayed to help their daughter Beverly who recently underwent surgery on her leg. She is improving slowly. The Ipsens were not home too long before they ventured forth again. This time to attend the Hoagland reunion in Jackson Hole. The Bear River Relief society is giving the lessons at the Pioneer nursing home this month. Last Monday Ida Christensen went along with the group and visited Violet Jensen and Mary Holman who are residents there. Mary S. Anderson went with her daughter Reva Merrill to her home in Preston and returned home Thursday. Sunday Mary had as her Hosts Party 7 Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Iverson hosted a dinner party for the new Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Iverson. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Iverson, Tammy, Michelle and Kirk Iverson. Kevin left July 8 for Ft. Lewis, Wash, where he reported for duty. His new bride will follow as soon as he finds a place to live. Family members of the Dwight and Blaine Anderson families spent quite a bit of their time during the week with Sheldon Anderson and his daughters Marlene and Shelly during the illness and death of Sheldon. He was buried in our cemetery Saturday and close family members met at the Ila Anderson home for lunch following the services. Ila Anderson and Clytie Anderson of Elwood spent the Fourth weekend in Boise visiting Mr. and Mrs. Irving Ransom. Enjoying a weeks fishing were Arva and Doyle Archibald and son Duane and Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Archibald and children of Brigham City. June 6 marked the day for the reunion of the Walt Hansen family in the Brigham Canyon. Forty family members were able to attend which was over half and was considered to be a good representation. Cleanne Duke and her grandmother Daisy Duke spent Thursday with the other grandmother Ida Christensen. Boyd brought Saturday Christensen, his wife and daughter up to visit Ida. We saw Boyd out clicking his camera the Christensen around homestead. July 10 night Mr. and Mrs. Ken Paskett met with other family members for a dinner party at the Maddox cafe to celebrate the 90th birthday of Mrs. Ella H. Anderson. Only three family members were unable to attend. Mrs. Kae Grimmett of Salt Lake City visited her parents On July , FRIDAY Saturday Mrs. Gardner had as her guests Gardner Jeppson of Mantua and his girl friend Jan Richards. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mateasen, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Wright and children of Ely, Nev. and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Mateasen of Salt Lake City spent the weekend with Cliff Mateasen. They were here to attend the Rudell reunion and the 50th wedding anniversary of their parents the Rudells. Fourth Visitors Over the Fourth of July weekend guests at the Mario Checketts home were Bryce and Marlene Checketts of Chandler Arizona, Sydney and Rose Marie Checketts, Candi and Lance of Murray. Special event of the weekend was a cookout at which Mr. and Mrs. Whitney Checketts and five children of Paonia, Colorado joined the group. July 3 brought Mr. and Mrs. Vernon L. Romney of Bountiful and Mrs. Erma Greethman of Salt Lake City to the home of Lula Clayson. On the Fourth Mrs. Clayson entertained Maxine Adamson and daughter of Brigham City and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Clayson of Richmond. Beverly Cutler drove up from Provo accompanied by her father Vernon Romney and took Mrs. Clayson for a ride around the countryside during the week. John and Alva Hardy left at a.m. Thursday for their trek to the Nauvoo mission. The Alan Hardys report they had received a call from John and Alva Saturday evening saying 5 their they had reached destination in good shape, surgery. He is recovering quite well. Elvira Christensen had a bit of excitement during the week. fire of undetermined origin flared up on the river hill just A south of her home. Early detection and quick action prevented the fire from traveling too far and doing much damage. Fire Damage The fire Saturday on the Warren Holmgren property did do some damage. It burned down an old town land mark. Warren was burning dried grass which got out of control and travelled to the unoccupied house on the farm. This home was built by Warrens father David around the turn of the century and was quite a place in its heyday. We hate to see it turned into a pile of bricks although it was slowly decaying from neglect and vandalism over the years. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Morgan (Norene) of Phoenix, Ariz., Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Taylor (Mar-cai- ) of Hunter, Mr. and Mrs. George Thornely (Arietta) and two children of Thancker and Mrs. Darrell Larkin and daughter Brenda of Snowville were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mario Checketts on Tuesday. That evening the adults in the above group drove to Ogden where they were joined by Minnie Frehner of Salt Lake City and Karl Checketts of Ogden and attended a session at the Ogden Temple. Attending the Brigham Young university three day youth conference at Provo were Margo Checketts, Hendrickson, Nickoliasen, Tena Marilyn Lorri Whitaker, LeAnna Sorenson, Cindy Frost, Lorri Ward, Lorri Lee Davis, Beth Oyler and Cami Jensen. The girls were chaperoned by Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hendrickson and Carol Ann Barker. Attending a birthday party honoring Jared Hardy Tuesday July 9 were Mindy Whitaker and Mallory Moyes of Brigham, Chad Hardy of Corinne, Shane Whitlock of Willard and Nathan Hardy of Elwood. From Bear River were Aaron Hardy, Casey Porritt, Michelle Checketts, Julie Cusick, Hailey Davis, Trent Hendrickson, Little League The Little League has wound up their summer games with a couple of social activities. Wednesday night the Stars, one of four teams, and their parents met at Bills Drive Inn in Brigham where each one ordered his own dinner. While they were dining Max Baty related some outstanding thing about each boy. The most valuable player award was given to Brad Andreason, son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtiss Andreason, Kirk Baty son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Baty and Douglas Nelson son of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Nelson tied for the best batting average. Each boy received a new baseball. Friday night all four teams and their parents were honored at a banquet at the Ward Cultural Hall. Neil Nelson President of the League were presided. Sixteen chosen and new officers were elected. The new people are Dick Nelson, president, Con t; Corinne. Woodwar, Nelson Joy secretary and treasurer. Vida Burt will perform the duties of head scorekeeper, head umpire will be Dennis - Cusick and player representative David Tolman of Honey ville. Outgoing officer given thanks for a good season and a job well done are Neil Nelson, president; Marilyn Nelson Paul Christianson, Alan Jensen, all-sta- rs Vice-presiden- though it was hot all the way and is hot and dry in Nauvoo. They have already met several charming couples and are sure they will enjoy their stay there. Elwood Jensen, the local postmaster, received a letter from Dorothy Ackerman Friday. They had reached their destination in safety too. She thanked Elwood for his courteous service over the years while they have lived here. The Wayne Hardys have been living in their new home across the river. Kerry Lee, Amber and their new daughter Jennifer have now moved into their new home. Evening accident dims Honeyville by Sharon Mecham The town of Honeyville was in darkness Friday night, July 12, for approximately three hours due to an automobile accident. Richard Curtis, 18, Harper Ward alledgedly sheered off a utility pole throwing his two young occupants into the windshield. Injured were six and seven year old Scott and Bradley Curtis from Tooele. Both boys were taken to Cooley Memorial hospital by Brigham City ambulance. They suffered facial lacerations and contusions. The driver was cited for reckless driving. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bingham and daughters Eva and Marie left Thursday for Manti for the Morman Miracle pageant. Ross and Lois Coombs are enjoying a weeks visit from their daughter, Sherma and six children Cynthia, Laurel, Brian, Jeff, Meloni, and Monoco from Seattle, Wash. While they were here they traveled to Manti for the Mormon Miracle Pageant. They also had the pleasure of seeing their granddaughter blessed in fast meeting Sunday. They are now going to summer classes at Weber State and working there for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Blair Carter and Diana, Donna, Dixie, Tamara, Cindy, and Lynn spent one week fishing in the Uintas.
