Kevin will be a senior at Box Elder High school this fall and is very active in church, school and scouting activities. He has held a number of leadership positions in his priesthood quorums and is his presently secretary of 04 succumbs in spring lYlan, the Kevin Hirschi . troop 330. , Spring Social The Perry ward Relief society held their Spring Social Tuesday morning with a large crowd in attendance. The ladies enjoyed participating in the several mini classes offered and then a lovely program was presented under the direction of Mrs. Retha John and Mrs. Jane Hillier, programs chairmen. Mrs. Hillier acted as MC with the following program, several numbers by Rozell Henrie Dance Studio, two musical numbers by Linda and Jan Christensen accompanied by Mrs. Joycele Poulsen. Mrs. Diliah Call played a violin number accompanied by Mrs. Louise Davis and an accordian number by Mrs. Connie Hirschi. Relief society president, Mrs. Velva Greenhalgh then thanked all those who have helped this past year. Those who attained an almost 100 percent attendance this year were Mrs. Eva Young, Mrs. Minnie Jenks, Mrs. Wilma Maddox, Mrs. Tess Johnson and Mrs. Hazel Nelson. A very special part on the program was then given by Mrs. Eva Young, a reading paying special honor to the ladies who have spent so much time quilting these past few months. Mrs. Wanda Sebek, Mrs. Minnie Jenks, Mrs. Elzada Young, Mrs. Alice Snow, Mrs. Carol Dickey, Mrs. Louise Davis, Mrs. Merle Perry and Mrs. Cora Quayle who have helped in averaging one quilt a week since the first of the year. A lovely luncheon was then served and special favors given to all the ladies in attendance. Sustained Sunday evening in the Perry second ward several new people were sustained to new positions. Mrs. Ellen Sparrow was sustained as the new ward organist. Released was Cindy Dinsdale. Mrs. Yevone Adams and Mrs. Louise Francis was sustained as Primary teachers and Terry Weight as assistant scoutmaster. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd John this past weekend holiday has been two of Rethas sisters, Mrs. Lila of Seattle, Bloomquist Washington and Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Rathjen of Bremerton, Washington. This is the first time in a number of years the sisters have had the opportunity to spend some time together. On Saturday evening a family supper was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Johns as they honored their daughter Danielle on her birthday. Those attending were Ronda and Darwin Smith and son Cling, Mrs. Earlene Rhower and son Kevin all of Salt Lake, Danielle John of Ogden and Floyd and Retha of Perry. Another busy home over the long weekend was the Jim Wright home. Their daughter Mrs. Gaylene Henderson and daughter Nikki from Orem came to spend a few days. During the weekend other visitors were another daughter and Mike and Shirley Nielsen and son Brett of Brigham City. son-in-la- Other family members visiting were Dennis and Alene Crocker and daughters Tammy, Stacy and Tonya of Brigham City, Mrs. Allie Roche of Logan man apparently drowned at a mineral spring west of Corinne Saturday, the Box Elder County Sheriffs office reports. Dead is Herbert R. Weston, 84, of 357 Boulevard Avenue. He apparently drowned while bathing at Stinky Springs about six miles west of Corinne, deputies said. They said Weston and a friend, A. L. Reese of Logan entered separate pools at the springs about 2 p.m. Saturday. When Reese went to get Weston from his pool, he found the man floating in the water, he said. Reese then flagged down a passing motorist who helped pull the mans body from the water. Weston was taken to Cooley Memorial Hospital by Brigham City ambulance where he was pronounced dead. Joining them on Sunday was Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wright of Brigham City and Mr. and Mrs. Don Jeppsen of Magna. On Monday afternoon Mike Henderson drove up from Orem to pick up Gaylene and Nikki. Not just this past weekend but this past month has been busy at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Call. Their son Robert arrived home on April 22 for a month furlough from the US Army and to get his family to take back with him. On May 6 another son and his family, Frank and Lynn and children Denise and Millissa arrived staying until May 20 when the two families left for Texas together. Robert is stationed at Fort Hood, Texas and Frank is in El Truck blaze ZJ Paso. He reported the van was westbound out of Box Elder Canyon and struck the rear of a 1972 model van driven by Helen Smith, 42, Salt Lake City, The van in turn was pushed into a car driven by Albert Southwick, 79, Salt Lake City. The Southwick then struck the rear of a car driven by Deborah Borgstrom, 18, Logan. Officer Thorsted said two women in the Southwick car received minor injuries, but no one was hospitalized. Damage to the vehicles was estimated at $1,000, he said. Adams was cited for driving too fast for existing conditions, the officer said. In a separate incident last Brigham Friday, a City juveile was cited for driving without a license and improper lookout when he was involved in a traffic accident at 249 N. Main.
