Show 14 BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah Thursday, May 30, 1974 Riverside Register Family holds party over Memorial Day Fielding Flashes Traveler to Missouri returns after visits by Flo Munson Alene Sutherland Mrs. returned home Thursday after spending the past three weeks in Missouri where she visited Ed Sutherland in Norwood, Mrs. Ethel Sutherland, Mr. and Mrs. Dain Sutherland in Mountain Grove, and Mrs. in Blanche Sutherland Springfield. She was accompanied by a cousin Mrs. Liddie Alexander of Redding, Calif. They also visited Bill Sutherland in Clifty Creek, Ind; Mrs. Edna Cameron and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cameron in Indianapolis. Attending a dinner party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Slaughter in Farmington Friday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Abbott and daughter Tami. They were joined by other friends and spent the evening visiting. Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Burton Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Norman Petersen and family of Bountiful. They also visited Mrs. Elma Petersen. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Moss entertained at a dinner party at their home Thursday evening for their son, Kim, who graduated from Bear River High School. Guests Included Mrs. Tom Parry, Mrs. Vadis Gilgen of Malad, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Everton of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Val Lewis of Bothwell and Miss Jeanette Morris of Tremonton. Visiting Mrs. Edith Welling Wednesday were Mr. and Mrs. Dell Barkdall and six children of Washington D.C. Monday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Udy were Rheumina Udy and Mrs. Ruth Winkler of Ogden. Dinner Party Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Wood were their and daughter Dr. and Mrs. Jay Risenmay and daughters Ann, Laurel and Janet of Rexburg, and Max Behling of Pocatello. Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Wood entertained at a dinner party for their guests. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Norman Rudd and family, Dixie, Terry Lynn and Cindy Wood, Ruby Farnsworth of Fielding and Lloyd George of Tremonton. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Udy were in Nyssa, Ore., on business during the week. Enroute home they visited Mrs. Udys brother-in-laand sister Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Tarbet in Hunt, Ida. Mrs. Edith Welling and Mrs. Opal Groth spent Monday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bennett and Mr. and Mrs. Bud McIntyre in Pocatello. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Udy spent Memorial Day with relatives in Millville. Spending Memorial Day visiting Mrs. Voylet Grover were Mr. and Mrs. R. Dean Grover of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sutherland, Mr. and Mrs. Spence Ahlmer of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Verl Grover of Brigham City. Weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sterline Burton were Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Peterson and family of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Burton visited Mrs. Burtons father John Sjoblom in Farmington during the week. Uene Udy and Geri Jones were among the students of the son-in-la- Bear River Junior Spanish Class who left Sunday for Mexico City where they will spend several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Udy joined Mr. and Mrs. Jay Udy, Dr. and Mrs. Lex Udy of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Ina Udy of Ogden and Mr. and Mrs. John Laws of Bothwell at the Pioneer Park in Brigham City on Memorial Day for a picnic lun- Heartfelt sympathy goes out to Glen Wood and his family in the death of his lovely wife, Lula Rasmussen Wood. Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Afton Adams were Mr. and Mrs. Monte Strigham and family of Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Anger, Mr. and Mrs. DeVerl Anger and daughter Chelsey accompanied by Mrs. Linda Westley and two daughters of Brigham City attended Sacrament meeting in Salt Lake City Sunday where the small son of Mr. and Mrs. Darold Simmons was blessed by his father and given the name of Jeffrey E. Simmons, Immediately following a dinner party was held at the Wimmons home. Others attending were Mr. and Mrs. Gail Anger and family of Bountiful and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anger of Salt Lake by Flo Munson a family Enjoying dinner, party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Burnett on Memorial Day were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Burnett, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Wheatley and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Burbank and family of Fairview. Attending in addition to Major Hansen and his wife and family, were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Anderson of Salt Lke City, Miss Anna Funk of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Preston of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Holmgren, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Holmgren, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Holmgren of Bear River City, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Weiler, Dr. and Mrs. John Hurley of Tremonton. Mayor Hansen left Tuesday for reassignment in Thailand as an executive officer to Gen. Terry O'Keefe, who heads the US military in South east Asia. He anticipates returning home around Christmastime. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Udy had as their guests on Memorial Day Mr. and Mrs. Tim Parker of Ogden. Tuesday, Mrs. Verl Udy accompanied by Mrs. Lyle Watson of Tremonton, Mrs. Tim Parker of Ogden were at the Salt Lake airport to meet Mr. and Mrs. Pahon Apgood who were returning from vacation in the Hawaiian Islands. A dinner party was enjoyed at Hotel, Utah. Spending Memorial Day visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Anger were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anger of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Gail Anger and family of Bountiful. Tuesday morning Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Anger and Mr. and Mrs. Gail Anger and family left for a vacation in Helena, Mont., and Yellowstone Park. Visiting Mrs. Hulda Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Anderson in Salt Lake City Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Ace Godfrey. Moy 4 summer A enrichment program has been planned for children four, five and six years of age, sponsored by community schools. There will be two sessions lasting two weeks beginning June 3. A child may register for one, two, or three classes and each class is $4.00 a session and there will be a maximum enrollment of fifteen children per class. Registration will be May 31 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m for the first session and June 14 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. for the second session. The fifty minute classes will meet Monday through Thursday. All classes and registration will be held in the Southwest room (R.2) in the Southwest wing at Lakeview Elementary school. The instructor will be Lucile Kerr. Each class will emphasize a particular area of development in addition to the regular class activities, and children will participate in additional daily activities in that area. This is the class schedule and a brief description of the class: 8 a.m. - 8:50 a.m., This is Me, class focuses on the development of positive 9 a.m. - 9:50 a.m., Speak Up, language development and verbal expression, 10 a.m. 10:50 a.m., Creative Art, this will provide a variety of art media for the children to work with. self-imag- -- cheon. Swim Party Fielding 6th The grade students along with Principal Don Edvalson and Yvonne Price enjoyed a swimming party in the Bear River High School pool Monday afternoon afterwhich they held a hamburger fry. Mrs. Lolita Garn entertained at a breakfast party for Fielding School personnel Thursday morning at her home. Guests included Principal Don Edvalson, Yvonne Price, Jack Forsberg, Janet Godfrey, Christy Crane, Anna Kirby, Vernell Cami Palmer, Morrison, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Wood, Nina Lamb, Lucille Godffey and Lana Godfrey. Brigham man ends course Army Lt. Col. DeLonne Anderson of 1080 E. 1st N., Brigham City, has completed an amphibious warfare indoctrination course at the Naval Amphibious School, San Diego, Calif.
