Show i Grouse Creek Reports Obituaries D Samuel Jay Bloom Samuel Jay Bloom, 26, 622 East First North, died Monday morning in the Good Samaritan hospital in West Islip, N.Y. of acute leukemia. He was born Nov. 6, 1947 in Brigham City, the son of Harry and Delless Fredrickson Bloom. He was reared and educated in Brigham City, graduated from Box Elder High school in 1966 and from Utah State university in Logan in 1970. At USU he was selected to the honor society Phi Kappa Phi. At the present time he was studying in his second year of graduate school, by Marge Thompson Keith and Judy Kimber were here on Sunday to visit her parents, John and Flo Gross. They also took Judys horse back, since she has joined a riding club. Keith is employed on a ranch in Paul, Idaho now and they are living in a new mobile home there. The Relief society work meeting was held on Tuesday with a large crowd attending. A lovely quilt belonging to Ella Tanner was completed. It had been pieced by her sister, Hilda Betteridge, when Hilda only had the use of one hand. It was simply beautiful. The new Relief society members worked on a baby quilt. Brenda Kimber, Betty Kimber, Effie Blanthorn and Marsha Oman tried their talents at quilting for the first time. Carol Warburton presented an interesting lesson on nutrition. Luncheon was served by Vera Tanner, Betty Kimber and Marjorie Thompson. Mike Files and his mother, Therma Files, and Doris Betteridge drove out to Grouse Creek last Sunday from Ogden. They came to bring Ella Tanner back home after her visit to the doctor. working toward a Ph.D. in physics at the University of Stony Brook at Stony Brook, N.Y. Fisher Gweeny Louise Shupe Fisher, 62, Farr West, died Sunday at natural Kimbers in also stopped Brigham Sunday for a visit with Judy and Kent Williams and children, on their way home. Sunday Visitors Blaine and Julie Tanner, Julies brother, Paul Garrett and his girlfriend, Pam, all came over from Burley and spent Sunday with Blaines parents, Bishop and Mrs. Merlin Tanner and family. Loraine Tanner was also home from Ogden with her family. Blaine and Julie have recently moved from Malta to Burley where they will be in the farming business for themselves. The Harley Sanders family have company for a week. Marvin Sanders and his Kevin, children, Marvin, George, Aaron, Kathleen and Julie, are all here from California for their weeks Easter vacation. Reese and Grace Warburton were in Salt Lake Sunday and Monday on a business trip. They were overnight guests of Graces neice, Sue Shafter, and her family in Bountiful. Graces sister, Low, was also the McKay hospital of causes. Mrs. Fisher was born Feb. 9, in North Ogden, a daughter of David C. and Sophi 1912, Pearl Anderson Mathews Shupe. She was married May 27, 1930, to Joseph Howell Fisher in Farr West. She had been active in the Farr West LDS ward and had been a Primary teacher, MIA secretary and member of the Relief society. Among survivors is Blaine Howell Fisher of Brigham City. Funeral services were held Wednesday in Ogden. Burial was in the Washington Heights Memorial park. Rella H. Moyes Rella Hollist Moyes, 25, Layton, formerly of Brigham City, died of a heart ailment Saturday, in a Bountiful hospital. She was born Aug. 22, 1948, in Brigham City to Orson LeRoy and Jennie Brown Hollist. She was married to William Earl Moyes Nov. 24, 1971, in the Salt Lake LDS temple. She graduated from Davis High school and from Weber State college magna cum laude and as a member of Phi Kappa Phi. She is survived by her husband; son, Michael Wm., both Layton; her mother, Kaysville; brothers and sister, J. Taylor, Oneonta, N.Y.; Robert L., Idaho Falls; Jeffrey 0., K. Rand, Mrs. Craig (Martha) Rushforth, all from Kaysville; Mrs. Vance (Nancy) Pace, Las Vegas, Nev.; Mrs. Gerald (Alice) Glaugue, Rolla, Mo.; Mrs. David (Dawnell) Tingey, Corvallis, Ore.; Mrs. Chuck (Jolynn) Bean, Salt Lake City. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday in the Layton Fifteenth LDS ward chapel. She was buried Kaysville Memorial park. Elwell Pearl Anderson Elwell, 76, Bear River City, died Monday in Holy Cross hospital of natural causes. She was born Nov. 3, 1897 in Bear River City, the daughter of Nephi and Ane Margarthe Anderson. She was married to LeRoy Elwell, April 28, 1916, in Brigham City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS temple. He died Aug. 27, 1967. Mrs. Elwell was a lifelong resident of Brigham City and active in the LDS church. She served as organist and chorister in the Ladies Relief society, Primary and Sunday school. She was a member of the Bear River City Daughters of Utah Pioneers. two include Survivors daughters, Mrs. Cyril D. (Helen) Fullmer, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Max (LaVoy) Centerville; four grandchildren, two great Mickelson grandchildren; a brother and four sisters, Homer Anderson, San Leandro, Calif.; Mrs. Melvin (Meltrude) Nelson, Brigham City; Mrs. Kenneth (Ethelyn) Sargent, Las Vegas, Nev.; Mrs. Leonard (Muriel) Sorenson, Bear River City; Mrs. Joe (Charlotte) Zitto, Riverdale. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in the Bear River City LDS ward chapel. Friends may call at the Olsen Funeral chapel, Second North and Main, tonight (Thursday) 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday at the Bear River ward Relief society room one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Bear River City cemetery. Mabel D. Hansen Francis Frank' Dayton Hansen, 82, Montpelier, Idaho, died of natural causes Sunday at home. She was born Jan. 11, 1892, in Dingle, Idaho, to Theodore and Lucy Ann Nate Dayton. She was married to Albert P. Hansen, April 7, 1910, in the Logan LDS temple. He died March 31, 1965. Among the survivors is Mabel Barlow Francis (Frank) Barlow, 65, Provo, died April 12, of a heart attack in a Provo hospital. He was born Nov. 8 1908, Etna, to Jesse and Annie Paskett Barlow. He married Josephine Broadbent on Oct. 23, 1937, in the Salt Lake LDS temple. She died Jan. 29, 1971. He worked for the Postal service for 20 years and was a World War II veteran. Among the survivors are his mother, Brigham City; a brother, Roy J Brigham City; and a sister, Mrs. LaVerne Fry, Brigham City. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Provo First ward chapel. The marriage was on March 29 at the Craner home with the brides uncle, Bishop Lamar Nelson the performing ceremony. The bride and groom are now in Wabeno, Wis. where Ron is employed. Carolyn transferred to finish her schooling. She says her senior class totals 30 students and her school colors are still purple and white. Ron and Carolyn arrived in Wabeno, just missing the bad storms, however they were without power for 18)4 hours. They did see many of the places hit by the tornados. , Tennis Team Did you know Brad Hall is on the Box Elder tennis team. More interesting is that he plays left handed. Sue Ann Larsen, along with twelve other students (all juniors) of the Boomerang staff, and John Wayman instructor, left Thursday night April 4 for San Francisco. They stayed at the Hilton hotel and Sue Ann was especially lucky because she was able to visit her Aunt Renae Larsen who lives there. They had meetings on Saturday and Sunday and returned home Monday, April 8. Sue said it was a really good time. Russell D. Hansen of Brigham City. She was buried in the Montpelier City cemetery. their children, Jeff, Cattle Chores Delroy Kimber was out from Brigham last weekend to turn out his cattle and take care of farm chores here. Sad news came from Junior and Sharon Kimber. Sharon's brother, Keith Cahoon, of Alma was killed in an automobile accident on Saturday. Our deepest sympathy is sent to all the family. Delma and Verl Smith and girls, Becky and Tracy, of Ogden were weekend visitors ef her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Kimber. Stake President Grant Wyatt and Bishop Reed Bowen of were visitors at Burley meetings here Sunday. They were dinner guests of Lyman and Eula Kimber. Doug and Luana Riching were out from Riverside last weekend and stayed at the Richins summer home here. Peggy and Lynn Kay and boys, Todd and Wade, spent the Easter holiday in Grouse Creek with Bryan and Bobbi Blanthorn and family. They also visited the Bruce Blanthorns. Janet Blanthorn was also home from Tremonton with her parents. Naomi Kimber, Steven and Gary, and Stevens girl friend were home from Brigham for the Easter weekend with Grant Kimber. Also happening at the Curt Larsen home was a birthday for little Kyle on April 2. Friends, aunts, uncles and cousins were invited. Highlight of the party was the birthday cake made by his Aunt Wilma. The cake was made in the image of a panda bear in a wagon. Happy birthday to David Palazzolo who celebrates his birthday on April 4. The Palazzolos had a party for their little foster child, Amy Christensen. Hired Men The Warburtons have three hired men living on the ranch now. Tim Sjoberg is from Brigham, Mitchell Holt from Price, and Oscar Begay of Arizona, who has been attending USU. Bp. Richard Barnes of Yost has also spent some time at the Warburtons doing some work for them. Darrell Tanner and daughter, Kristin, and Rulon Miles came out from Ogden Saturday to bring some cattle and get fence posts. They enjoyed a short visit with Herb and Vera Tanner. Norma and Dean Clark, Carla, Mike, Jeff and Paul, came out from Brigham for the Easter weekend with her parents, the Herb Tanners. Allen Tanner was also home from Ogden. The Tanners, Clarks, and Thompsons had an Easter picnic over at the old Etna reservoir. The weather was beautiful and we had a lot of fun. Bud Grover of East Garland was a weekend guest of the family. Hughie Thompson Bambi Thompson was also home from Brigham. Marge Thompson returned to Ogden with them Sunday to spend LeAnn with some time Thompson, who is ill and bedfast. Word was received of the death of Francis Barlow on Saturday. Francis, who was always called Beanie, was reared in Grouse Creek. He has been living in Provo and the funeral will be held there on Wednesday.
