Those movies of the couples shopping around for apartments are primarily fiction, since a brand new housewife usually finds herself searching for an opening in an area populated by students or by other new residents attracted to the employment opportunity that her new husband has attained. In such cases, apartments and rental homes are at a premium and are sometimes even taken by their future dwellers. Citing the authors personal dilemma, her future hubby was already residing in town and renting a room from a family and sharing the set of beds with son at night. their Somehow, this arrangement for unsuitable seemed and he began newlyweds haunting the newspaper office for apartment listings before they were published. Ideal for Beginners Apartments are just about right for beginning housewives, however, since the large of majority newcomers to housewifery are also employed fulltime outside of the home at the time of marriage. Its hard enough to figure out the workings of the vintage appliances and catch on to a new schedule without adding marigolds and grass and sprinklers to the new responsibilities. Apartments usually already have draperies and major appliances, however antique they might be. Neighbors are pretty close, too, and are usually tolerant toward the new housewife in the supplying of mundane sugar or shortening or dish detergent forgotten in the excitement of buying the soy sauce and mushrooms needed in an exotic recipe. Prompt return ' of borrowed supplies is a must in order to remain welcome at neighbors doors, however.
