Helen Captain Marriott conducted a short business meeting prior to the presentation of the lesson. Mrs. Donetta Petersen gave an interesting and informative lesson on "Origin of Names and Places." Mrs. Orpha Oyler read an early history of her mother Mrs. Cora Wood. A delicious dessert was enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Thomas of Tremonton, Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Westergard, Mr. and Mrs. Kerry Austin of Garland and Mr. and Mrs. LaVere Udy and family of Riverside gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Westergard and family Sunday on the occasion of Mrs. Jay Westergards birthday I'.J Y Elder . . . The meeting will start at 6 p.m. Friends are invited to attend. Elder Workman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merlin H. Workman, S69 South Second West, labored in Madrid, Castellon, and the Cataluna area during his two years in the mission field. He was the first missionary in Castellon and was branch president for about half his mission. Elder Workman is a 1970 graduate of Box Elder High school and plans to enroll at Utah State university when the winter quarter begins. He plans to major in business. Car strikes woman on Main street A Brigham City woman was treated at Cooley Memorial hospital this week for injuries suffered in an automobile-pedestriaaccident on Main street Monday night. According to police reports, Marla Morse, 38, 873 Kentwood drive, was injured in the mishap which occurred near First n South. The woman was struck by a car driven by Scott Norman, 18, West Corinne, police said. She was taken to Cooley Memorial hospital in a Brigham City ambulance and released ti Mrs. Fred Butler accompanied by Mrs. DeLon an- niversary. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Wood Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Terry and family of Bountiful. Mr. and Mrs. George Hales accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Steven Hales and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Cravens of Tremonton attended funeral services for their nephew James Hales 23, held in Bellevue, Wash. Saturday. James was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hales former residents of Riverside. Visiting Kirs. Venna Hess Saturday were her brother-in-laand sister Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Coombs and her sister J t Mrs. Odetta Bramwell of Salt Lake City. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Hodge Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Udell Hodge of Ogden and Mrs. Cora Lee McClary of Roy. They also visited Mrs. Roselin Draper. Neal Thompson of Delta was an overnight guest of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Thompson Thursday. Spending Sunday visiting Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Burns and other relatives in Bountiful were Mr. and Mrs. Dave Thomas. Tuesday, a hospital spokesman said. Police investigation of the mishap continued and citations art pending. , Stokes and daughter Suzanne and son Mark of Bothwell spent Thursday in Ogden. Attend Conference Attending legislative council held at the Box Elder Junior High school in Brigham City Wednesday evening were Mrs. Ruth Shumway, Mrs. Donna Mix, Mrs. Karen Busenbark, Mrs. Ruth Warburton. Dr. Donnie Grlmsley, assistant director of the Rockefeller Foundation Finance and Environment Program at USU gave a discussion on "Land Use and Management. Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brown attended funeral services for Ann May Gardner, 3 month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Gardner in Eden. They were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Stallings. Friday Mr. and Mrs. Bengt Jonsson of Kaysville hosted a dinner party at Sherwood Hills in Sardine canyon in compliment to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brown who were observing their wedding anniversary. Attending funeral services for Ross Gleason in Ogden Tuesday were Mr. and Mrs. Norman Jensen and Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Jensen. Mr. Gleason was a former resident of Garland. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Allred and family Friday were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Butler and daughter Christy of Bountiful. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Jensen entertained at a dinner party at their home Wednesday evening in compliment to Mrs. Jensen's brother-in-laand sister Mr. and Mrs. Harry Holman of Sylmar, Calif.
