Show 4 BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah Thursday, August 23, 1973 octal Society Editor's MATCH PAD Sarah Yates, Society Editor XvIvXvXjXvXvj'XvXiXvXvjvX'jXvXj Well, the Editors took their last family camping trip of the summer last wekend up to the Greys River country in Wyoming, and had a thoroughly enjoyable time of fishing and relaxing in the outdoors. $ Somehow, the family gave up jgempihg over the Labor Day Weekend even before the boys hded up in football and had games scheduled for the weekend. It just seems as though public campgrounds within reach of a leisurely drive are crowded to the hilt on such weekends and turn into horizontal slum districts of campers, trailers and tents It seems strange to the Editors, who happen to figure on "roughing it when they go out to the woods, that people want to haul so much of their lome environment along and play their radios and sit indoors in the great outdoors! Togetherness Back to the outdoors, the family really experienced a j ! tight bit of "togetherness during the trip with two adults, three children, two dogs and one cat all packed into the stationwagon along with the tent and other camping gear. One child moved to the front seat and traded places for that priveleged spot as stops were made, and that just left two children and the pets in the back heat. Plans were made originally for the puppy to sit in box in the back, but the plans iwere made by the humans and jnot the puppy and were soon Overruled by the canine ihinority. Three leashes were also a necessity for roadside stops, Although the cat really thinks gies oprressed when leashed hind move. to refuses Unleashed, she's apt to wander ind hide on roadside stops so its a necessity unless there's plenty of time to conduct a search. At the campsite, and early morning, but didnt effect the fun of the trip. Suki worried the family by disappearing during a thunder storm, but appeared about three hours later padding down the road just as the family was about to take off in the car to call her., knowing that she had tried to run away from the thunder that had wakened us. however, shes had three years of ex- perience in camping and hunts for mice and chases squirrels and birds, although she never catches anything but the former to bring cack to camp to show the family before enjoying her feast of wild game. For the pup, it was the .first camping trip and she enjoyed the outdoors immensely and guarded the outhouse and watertap with her puppy barks whenever other campers used the facilities. Most of the few parties in the campground had dogs along, so each stayed in its territory unless following a member of the family. Good weather and plenty of wood meant that all the meals could be cooked over the fire, and pleasant evenings enjoyed around the ire. A few little Rainstorms hit during the night The following persons have been issued marriage licenses in the office of the Box Elder County clerk: Santiago Pacheco Gonzales, 33, Route 1, Brigham City, and Julia Alcanter Garcia, 33, Route 1, Brigham City; issued Aug. 17. It always seems as though the last day of a camping trip has the nicest weather, the best fishing, and the camp spot has grown lovelier so that is is hard to break camp and head off for the paved roads and working world. 'But the tent was put away fc its last trip of the season, the sleeping bags aired and rolled, t. the dishes Aug. 17.
