Show Boor River Reports Father, Son Night Planned at Corinne Couple Celebrates Wedding Anniversary Corinne Elementary school is planning a Father and Son night, Thursday (tonight) at 7 p.m. in the school. A dinner was served at Sir Georges restaurant to the family and eighteen friends of the Arbons. Fog Bank Plagues Town Residents While some of the cities of northern Utah are basking in sunshine, valley residents are hemmed in by heavy fog. It is unbelievable that several miles south or east the sun is shining. Saturday' saw considerable thawing of the four-inc- h Open House recreation hall where refreshments and a lovely anniversary cake was cut and served to guests who called and wished them happiness. Mr. and Mrs. Vanyle Arbon visited with their parents five days and Arva Moore, who came by plane, spent three days with her folks. Inadvertantly, Im sure, the item about the Alan Andreason baby was omitted from my column. Because his parents waited six years Im sure this announcement should be made. Brandon Wade Andreason was named in our last fast meeting by his father. Those attending the service for this event were Alans mother, Fern Andreason and two grand daughters of Elwood, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Rasmussen and four children of Millville, Mrs. Andreasons parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Simcox and her grandmother, Mrs. Elsie Jensen. After services they gathered at Alans home for dinner and an afternoon of visiting. Gloria Thorpe took her mother, Mrs. Ethel Hall to Logan Wednesday where she1 received additional medical treatment on her eye and she is now feeling somewhat better. Thursday we noted that the Gowaltneys were moving into their new home which is on the corner of Second South and Main across the street from the Pasketts. We are happy to welcome these new folks into our town. Carrie A. Christensen called me this morning (Saturday) and said she was so thrilled because the scouts under the direction of Roger Dallin, came and shovelled the snow from the paths around her home. She stated that this is the first time in the many years that she has been a widow that this service has been perforned for her. I imagine that they will be doing this for all the widows and elderly from now until spring. They are to be commended for their efforts. All the ward auxilliaries have been hepped up this week because of ward conference. We have had some very choice meetings. Mr. and Mrs. Monte Anderson are staying with Montes sister, Ila Anderson until they can decide on where to settle down and build their home. Monte has recently retired from the armed services. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Anderson and son Scott, Mrs. Cleo Barfus and small daughter of South Tremonton and Mr. and of Mrs. Roger Bowman Honeyville left Thursday to attend the funeral of their Sunday. They visited at the LDS hospital with Keiths mother who underwent surgery there last week. They were accompanied by May Mangum of Brigham City. Mrs. Mabel Shinkle suffered an illness at her home in Jackson Hole, Wyo. She was transferred to the hospital in Salt Lake City by family members. She is reported to be in an improved condition. Keith and Preal Shinkle motored to Salt Lake City on Grouse Creek Reports Ranch Work Keeps Local Men Busy by Marge Thompson It seemed like a quiet week without much activity. Of course the men are always busy feeding cattle and the many jobs winter brings. We still have lots of snow even though we had a couple of beautiful spring days. Harley Sanders and daughter, Phyliss, were home from Salt Lake to spend the weekend with the rest of the family. They also made a trip out Tuesday evening to get a load of cattle. Reese and Irma Warburton and family, Sherisse, Carolyn, Jeff, Chris and Rosemary, spent Thursday in Tremonton. Reese attended an RC&D meeting and the rest of the family visited relatives there. They called on Mr. and Mrs. Bob Warburton and family in Garland and also visited Pat and Don Bourne and family in East Garland. Keith and Judy Kimber and Eldon Kimber were in Burley Monday on a business trip. Eldon Kimber and Bobby Bailey had enough credits to graduate from high school at Raft River so theyre through now. Bobby is planning to join the National Guard and Eldon has a job. The fellows will graduate with their class in the spring. In Wyoming Flo and John Gross were in Wyoming during the holidays and brought Johns mother, Mrs. Edith Gross, back to spend a week with them here. Johns brother, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gross and their daughter, Alice Towell came and visited and took his mother back to Idaho to spend some time at their home during the winter. They also visited with their mother, Mrs. Nell Betteridge at her home in Ogden and with their sister, Mrs. Eva Rowland. Raida also spent some time with her son, Lynn Kimber in Ogden. Also attending the funeral for his sister were Mr. and Mrs. Dave Paskett. Lyman Kimber took them and went to the funeral. Perry recently returned from his LDS mis- n sion. Local Elder Returns To Willard Elder E. Perry of Willard has recently returned from the North Argentine mission and a homecoming is planned for him Sunday at 7 p.m. in the Willard LDS ward chapel. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Wesley Perry. Elder Perry has labored in the following cities: Salta, Santa Fe, Godoy Cruz, Mendoza, Alto Alberdi, San Louis and San Juan. Bishop Robert Morgan invites all friends, neighbors and relatives to attend the homecoming. Brinton Ivan and Grant Kimber were in Burley at the cattle sale on Thursday and Oren Kimber was also there. They found some mighty bad roads on their way home. The rains in Idaho and thaws in Utah caused the roads to be terribly muddy, Lyman Eula and Emily Kimber had to come back and couldnt attend their stake meetings that night. Allen Tanner was home from college to help his father during the weekend. On Friday he visited in Malta with Blaine and Julie Tanner. They attended a wrestling match in Burley. Bob Torrey and a friend, Blaine Peterson of Ogden called on Mr. and Mrs. Herb Tanner for a short visit Saturday. They were here enjoying a rabbit hunt. John and Flo Gross were in Burley this week then visited in Malta with Clara and Bob Bailey and family. Clara and Flo are sisters. Mrs. Mary Kimber went to Burley Monday and planned to go on to Brigham to spend a day with Mrs. Chloe Tanner and other relatives there. Naomi Kimber, Steven and Gary, came out from Brigham for the weekend. Mrs. Wilda Kimber returned with them and will be in Brigham for a couple of days on business. No New Yet havent heard the latest news about Bill Thomas. I Dwayne and Vivian Thomas and family, Jeff and Jodi, went to Salt Lake to be there for Bills operation and navent returned as yet. Bill was to have open-heasurgery on Friday. Jack Kimber went to Tremonton Friday and brought his daughter, Marilyn, home for the weekend. Then he took her back on Monday morning. Olive Kimber talked to Mary Thomas and David Thomas in Salt Lake Sunday and they reported that Bill had come through the operation and that he was getting along fine now. Lyman and Eula hosted a dinner party Sunday eyening at their home for Reese and Irma Warburton and family. They were celebrating birthday anniversaires for Reese, Irma and Eula whose birthdays were the past couple of weeks. rt Grand Opening Oren and Opal Kimber were in Bountiful this week with members of their family. They celebrated the grand opening of the new First Security Bank in Bountiful. Their Beecher enjoyed visiting Rhea Thompson but was sorry that Leah is hospitalized and very ill in Ogden. Roy was with her there. Chuck Harris took his mother, Mrs. Pearl Harris to Ogden for medical treatment. They spent several days there. Frank and Rosemary Collins and three daughters of Montello were Saturday visitors of Ed and Pearl Harris here. Mr. and Mrs. Burdell Wakefield and their son have been here from Ogden staying in their mobile home. They have also been visiting with the Ed Harrises. Ed Harris and Chuck Harris were in Burley Saturday on a business trip. Celebrate Birthday Rhea and Archie Toyn,were in Pocatello recently to celebrate the birthday anniversary of one of their grandsons. i Jimmy Berchtold celebrated his eighth birthday. The families were entertained at a dinner party at - a Chinese restaurant. Jimmy was treated as king for the day and especially enjoyed the fortune cookies. The Kimbers also stopped Thursday Night The Box Elder county chapter of the Utah Association of Mental Health will hold a board of directors meeting Thursday (today) at 5 p.m. In the conference room of the courthouse in Brigham and called on Judy Williams and son, Terry, and in Corinne they visited Joetta Liljenquist and family. Randel Kimber of Malta met his father, Oren Kimber, in Burley Thursday. They enjoyed dinner together and a visit. The Kimbers are fortunate to have all of thier families close and they can visit them often. Business Trip Hughie Thompson and his father, Fred, were in Tremonton Thursday on a business trip.
