Show Tromonton, Bear River Valley News Dinner Guests Dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Kupfer in Bothwell Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Kilfoyle and family, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Tucker of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. David Kilfoyle and baby of Bothwell. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Didericksen, Mr. and Mrs. Lytle Didericksen, Mrs. Phyllis Didericksen of Grantsville, Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Didericksen, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Didericksen, Mr. Mrs. and Monte Didericksen, Mr. and Mrs. LaRall Thompson of Thatcher met at the home of Mrs. Lula Valley Moms Loss off Resident by Flo Munson The entire Bear River Valley was saddened by the sudden passing of our good friend and neighbor John J. Shumway. His funeral service was held in the Garland LDS tabernacle Friday where he was paid highest tribute by both friends and relatives. Its unusual for a man to remain in business at the age of 95 but then John J. Shumway was a most unusual and outstanding man. He will be missed by many who held him in high esteem. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Farr will be honored at a testimonial held in the Tremonton Fifth ward chapel Jan. 21 at 5 p.m. prior to their leaving for a South Texas Spanish LDS mission. They will enter the mission home in Salt Lake City, Feb. 3. Visiting Mrs. Grace Hales in Tremonton are Mrs. Barbara Blazer and son Jason of Colorado Springs. Attend Services Attending funeral services for Vern Bailey in Kennewick, Wash. Monday was his sister of Mrs. Secrist Wayne Plymouth. She was accompanied by her brother Bill Bailey and her brother-in-laand sister Mr. and Mrs. Lester Eddington of Salt Lake City. Tremonton-Garlan- d The Pinochle club met with Annie Thompson as hostess Thursday evening. Carma Goodey was a special guest. Prizes went to Queenie Carr, Carma Goodey and Iva Godfrey. Dainty light refreshments were served. Richard Petersen, Darvel Garn and Sherman Earl of Fielding are among those who are enjoying a Beef Cattle Feeders tour in Denver this week. Miss Lorene Ashby entertained at a pink and blue shower at her home in Garland Saturday afternoon in compliment to her sister Annette Bair of Clearfield. Mason of Fielding attended Sacrament meeting in Brigham City last Sunday where their small granddaughter, the child of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Hansen was blessed by her father and given the name of Janalee. Following the meeting Mr. and Mrs. Mason were dinner guests at the Hansen home. Visiting Mr. and Mrs Paul Busenbark in Oakland the past week were Mr. and Mrs. D.L. Busenbark of Garland. The two men are brothers. Mr. and Mrs. D.L. Busenbark attended special classes in San Francisco relating to their business with films. J. Golden and Alice Neal Ward of Tremonton announce the arrival of a baby boy born Jan. 10. They have three boys and one girl at home. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Golden Ward and Mr. and Mrs. Howell Neal of Malad. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Keith Moss and family in Fielding Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Michael Moss and family of Malad. Miss Mary Jane Moss of Salt Lake City spent the forepart of this week with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Keith Moss and family. Hal Anderson, a student at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City spent the weekend at the Keith Anderson home in Both-wel- l. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Anderson are in Montana on business this week. Music Festival The Young Artists Music festival will be held in the stake center in Tremonton Jan. 23 at 7:30 p.m. It will feature classical and popular music from the young people in Bear River South Stake. Directors are Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Blanchard. . Bryan and Cherie Marble of Salt Lake City spent the weekend with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Marble in Both-wel- l. Mr. and Mrs. Delose Udy of Riverside spent Wednesday in Salt Lake City visiting Mr. and Mrs. Grant Skinner and family. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Hall of Portage visited Mr. and Mrs. Don Bone in Ogden Monday. They attended the basektball game with the Carolina Cougers vs. the Utah Stars at the Salt Palace and were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Love and family in Midvale. Mrs. Trent Thompson of Elwood spent the weekend visiting her son-in-la- w and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Gary Hill in Plain City. Dr. Johnson, 40, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Johnson. Elmo Munson of Fielding has been receiving medical care at the St. Benedict's hospital in Ogden for pneumonia.
