Show Tremonton, Bear River Valley News BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah 6 Thursday, November 9, 1972 Local Physician, Wife Visit Interesting Places by Flo Munson Dr. and Mrs. LaMar Harris of Tremonton have visited many places of interest during the past month. OcThe of forepart tober they visited Mr. and Mrs. Frances Crandall in Rapid City, S.D. Dr. Harris spent sometime in Chicago where he was a delegate to the Federation of Prosthodonic organization. Mrs. Harris accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Paul Pevlic of Chicago left by plane for Europe where they spent six days visiting points of interest in Italy, Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Returning to the states Mrs. Harris spent two weeks with her and daughter Mr. and Mrs. George son-in-la- Shelby and family in , Whitewater, Wis. She then accompanied her husband to Las Vegas where Dr. Harris gave lectures in the . First International Prosthodonic held in congress the Hilton International hotel. They enjoyed visiting Mr. and Mrs. George Gilbert, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Neisch and Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Hussey. Enroute home they visited Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Gardner in St. George. The accident happened when two southbound cars collided head-owth one automobile traveling north. Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Howard Dunlavy said a southbound sedan driven by LcGrande Clark Silver, 53, Salt Lake City, was in the outside 89-9- 1 n lane. Same Direction Another vehicle traveling in the same direction was driven Raymond Sheldon Anderson, 21, Ogden. The Silver car swerved to miss two horses on the highway. The vehicle hit the Anderson car and both of the automobiles continued into over the centerline and into northbound traffic. The northbound car, driven by Jacqueline Eskelsen, 18, 507 North Second West, Brigham City, hit both southbound cars. Trooper Dunalvy said the Eskelsen auto didn't have time to stop for the cars. Silver suffered bruises and abrasions and his wife, Ellen, 50, had a broken shoulder, three broken ribs and abrasions and contusions. Anderson suffered a bad bruise on his right arm, according to the law officer. Sprained Ankle Eskelsen suffered a sprained ankle and passengers in her car, her mother, Virginia Eskelsen, 41, had a broken left ankle and concussion, while the drivers sister, Wendy, 16, suffered bruises and abrasions. All of the victims were released from Cooley Memorial hospital except Mrs. Eskelsen who stayed overnight for observation, and the Mrs. Silver who was transferred to a Salt Lake area hospital Two Brigham City ambulances were dispatched to the scene. The Social Development club at the home of of Fielding met Donetta Petersen Thursday afternoon. Miss Betty Petersen, a member of the faculty at HYU in Provo gave an interesting discussion on New Trends and Concepts in Education. Teresa Parcell, Cindy White and Pam Jensen of Brigham City favored with a trio accompanied by Jane Jensen at the piano. Cindy Petersen played a piano solo. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Durfey, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Simmons of Beaver Dam; Mr. and Mrs. Don Hansen, Mrs. Faye White of Tremonton; Mr. and Mrs. James White of Garland; Mr. and Mrs. Max Pinder of Ogden. A delicious dinner was enjoyed followed by a social. Mrs. Mildred Baer graciously entertained members of the Tremonton-Garlan- Bridge d club at ther home Thursday evening. Mrs. Pheobe Henrie was a special guest. Prizes went to Mrs. Norma Green and Mrs. Mildred Shumway. A dainty dessert was served. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Reese Anderson in Bothwell were Dr. and Mrs. D.B. Green of Tremonton and Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Anderson of Bothwell. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Moss of Fielding and Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Wood of Garland attended a Farmers Grain Convention held in Pocatello three days last A lovely banquet week. followed. Bridal Shower bridal shower in compliment to Vickie Gam of Fielding who will become the bride of Randy Archibald of Tremonton on Nov. 10 was held at the home of Alta Coombs in Fielding Friday evening with Aloha Garn, Maxiene Garn, Jeanie Christensen, and Carol Forsberg as Games were played followed by a delicious luncheon. Saturday afternoon Vickie was honored at a further miscellaneous shower held at the home of Lila Miller in Tremonton with Aloha Gam, A Miss Trooper those presenting the program were Luella Drollette and Carolyn Jensen of Brigham City, Mrs. Eleanor Petersen, Mrs. Elaine Christofferson, Mrs. Elma Petersen, Mrs. Alene Sutherland of Fielding. Wash Highway The Brigham City Volunteer Fire department was sent to the accident to wash quite a bit of gas and oil off the highway, said Trooper Dunlavy. The accident happened at 6 : 35 p.m. Damage to the 1971 Silver car was $2,000 and loss to the 1968 Eskelsen sedan was $1,500. The Anderson vehicle was a total wreck, the trooper said Gloria Brown, Marianne Simmons and Norma Coombs as Original games were palyed and tasty refreshments served. Vickie received many lovely and useful gifts. Saturday Mrs. Mina Ward of Riverside accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Welton Ward of Pocatello to Ogden to visit Mr. and Mrs. Walter Harris. Sunday guests at Mrs. Wards home were Mr. and Mrs. Ross Shirley of Sugar City, Idaho. Houseguests at the home of Frank Wood in Fielding are Mr. and Mrs. Smith Richards of Carson City, Nev. Sunday they attended a dinner party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Wilcox and family in Fielding along with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wood and son Richard. Jay and Rowane Thomas Westergard of Garland proudly announce the arrival of a baby girl born Nov. 3 in the LDS hospital in Logan. Happy grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Thomas of Tremonton and Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Westergard of Garland. Great grandparents are Mrs. Dora Shaffer of East Garland and Mrs. Alice N. Robbins of Tremonton. Attending a dinner party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sid Garrett in Salt Lake City last week were Mr. and Mrs. Reese Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Allen of Bothwell, Dr. and Mrs. D.B. Green of Tremonton. Attend Meetings Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Marriott of North Garland had the pleasureof attending Sacrament meetins in two different wards Sunday where they had grandchildren blessed. The small daughter of Hal and Marva Marriott Mason of Plymouth was blessed by her father in the Belmont Ward in West Fielding and given the name of Heidi Lynn. The infant son of Gordon and Dorothy Marriott Taylor was blessed by his father in the Brigham City 18th Ward and given the name of Jason Edward. Immeditely following the meeting a family dinner party was held at the Taylor home in Brigham City. Attending were Jason Edwards grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Marriott of Garland, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Taylor of Salt Lake City and the great grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Barnes Cook of Cedar Fort. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Carol Marriott of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Hal Mason and family of Plymouth and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hales and family of Tremonton. n Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Bothwell in Stokes were Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Stokes of Bountiful. Enjoying dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Glade Sutherland and family in Logan Friday was Mrs. E.W. Sutherland of Fielding. Mrs. Earl Pierson of Plymouth spent Thursday and Friday in Salt Lake City with her daughter Mrs. Sonja Woodruff who underwent ear surgery in the LDS hospital. Mrs. Reed Giles was hostess to the VGF Club at ther home in Tremonton Tuesday evening. A hot plate luncheon was enjoyed afterwhich the evening was spent in doing various kinds of handiwork. Miss Cherie Peterson of Logan will become the bride of Craig Richards of Riverside in rites performed at the Logan LDS temple Nov. 17. Wednesday evening she was honored at a personal bridal shower at the home of Mrs. Jane Binns in Logan. Original games were enjoyed followed by light refreshments. Evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Anger in Fielding Thursday were Mr. and Mrs. De-Lo- ct Harry Holman of Sylmar, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Allred and daughter Tamra, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Jensen, Mrs. Rendall Draper of Garland. Mr. and Mrs. Anger showed pictures they had taken on their recent trip in South Dakota. Light refreshments were served. Evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Lewis and family in Fielding Wednesday were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. Reynold Tripp and four children of Malad, Mr. and Mrs. Steven Lewis and son of Tremonton. Mrs. Beatrice Wright of Garland visited her daughter-in-laMrs. Catherine Wright in Kaysville for a few days last week. Spending Saturday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Garn in Fielding were Mr. and Mrs. Harvey McCulloch and family of Sunselt. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Rees of Brown Tremonton spent Saturday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Max Rees and family in Kaysville. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Golden Burton in Thatcher the forepart of last week were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Knerr of Las Vegas. The two ladies are sisters. Mrs. Maurice Wilcox and children and Mrs. Ray Wood of Fielding visited Mrs. Wallace Tremelling and family in Ogden Saturday. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Udy in Riverside during the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. George Bitter of Idaho Adams of Falls; Ardis Tremonton; Robinson and Mrs. Carol family of Lewiston. Monday visitors were Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Griffiths of Brigham City. Dinner Party of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Summers was blessed by her father in Sacrament meeting in Bothwell Sunday and given the name of Calli Ann. A dinner party was held at the Summers home following the meeting.
