A morning kindergarten student, Bryan Burden, was not present for the picture. PERFECT ATTENDANCE Memorial y Day holiday were Bert and Doris Shipley. They "closed shop and spent Saturday at Twin Lakes in Idaho. They enjoyed boating and fishing during the opening of the season there. They reported the fishing as "good and of seeing many campers along the shores of the " lake. Grover and Eva Harper had traveled to Twin Lakes in Idaho with their boat and camp trailer before the opening of the fishing season there. Joining the Harpers for the Memorial Day weekend were Ez and Delores Harper and family. They enjoyed the fishing and boating on the lake during their stay there. Their luck was reported as being good, with all family members catching their limits of fish. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Luckey and sons, Larry, Rex and J.R. joined the large crowd at the Idaho resort for the holiday weekend. They were joined by their son, Larrys fiancee, Irene on Bingham, Monday. Everyone caught fish. Everett and Mrgaret Anderson spent the weekend at Twin Lakes. They were accompanied by Eldon and Ann Gardner of Tremonton. The group fished from the Andersons boat and caught their limits. Visit Parents Mr. and Mrs. DeLoy Stewart and children, Richard, Larry and Brad motored to Oasis on Saturday. They traveled there to visit with Marilyns parents, Mr. and Mrs. Red Stanworth. The Stewarts enjoyed a relaxing vacation during their stay, while meeting relatives and friends there. Visitors here at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth (Verlie) Jeppesen the past weekend were Verlies twin sister and Kenneths brother, Mr. and Mrs. Vernal (Vergie) Jeppesen. The Jeppesens traveled here to k vacation with spend a relatives. The visitors accompanied family members to decorate graves for the Memorial Day observance. There were Maurice and Carter, Paul and Marsha Christiansen, Bransom and Sandra Neff, Bill and Karla Smoot Duane and Della Marble, and the hosts. In the reporting of the piano recital held in the ward cultural hall last Sunday the name of LaVone Woodward, as having a number of students in the recital, was not included. She has been a teacher of the piano in her home for the past several years. The Corinne ward Relief society held their closing social Wednesday May 26. The organizations meeting time was in the mornings. They held their social in conjuntion with their regular meeting. The cultural refinement lesson, was given by Lila Wright. A song by Dianna Jeppesen, who accompanied herself on the guitar, and a violin solo by Roseann Kunzler, accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Horace Littlewood of Brigham City, comprised the musical program. Refreshments were served by Lorna Reeder, president; Lena Walker and Merlene Norman, counselors; and Lillian Bun-derso- n, recently secretary presidency in of the reorganized the ward. Cub Scout Awards Cub Pack 217 held a meeting in the ward cultural hall on Friday, May 28. Awards were presented to the following by Cub Master Gary Hansen: forester pin, Lynn Hansen and Gregory Norman; naturalist pins, Lynn Hansen and Gregory Norman; wolf badge, Rich Daines; his mother, Pauline Daines received a miniature badge. Bear awards went to Craig Smoot, his mother, Donna Smoot received a miniature ; David Christiansen received a bear award with his mother, a Marsha Christiansen, miniature. Gold arrows went to David Christiansen, Craig Smoot and Kerry and Gerry Norman; silver arrows to David Christiansen and Gerry and Ecumenical Kerry Norman. These boys also received their service stars second-yea- Notices r were welcomed into the Webelos. Ann Norman is the leader of that group. Florence Hansen, den mother, received a second-yea- r service stripe. A nature scavenger hunt, nature games and the display of the pictures drawn by the Webelos earning naturalist and forestry awards were the program features, enjoyed by the boys and their parents. Refreshments were served to the group by the leaders of the pack. Ted and Marg Burt were delighted to visit briefly with their son, Captain Ronald Burt on Monday. They met him at Hill Air Force base as he arrived there, piloting a He is a member of the US Air Force and arrived in the states from Thailand, where he had spent the past six months. Captain Burt left after the brief stop at HAFB, to fly the plane to Shephard Field in Texas. He will join his wife, Lynn, in Columbus, Ohio, where she has been making her home while he has been overseas. After his leave is up, he will return to Thailand to complete his tour of duty there. and Family Reunion The home of the Leon ODells was the scene of a delightful reunion of family members over the Memorial Day weekend. Meeting there on Sunday for dinner were members of the Peterson family that were aunts and uncles of Paulines They were Mr. and Mrs. Audie Messer of Buena Park, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wallace of Ely, Nev.; Mr. and Mrs. Clark Jensen of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Buck Peterson, of Garland; Mr. and Mrs. David Forsgren and children, and Richard Forsgren of Brigham; Mr. and Mrs. Wilber J. Peterson of Denver, Colo. The Petersons had been houseguests at the ODells over the holiday weekend. The group spent a happy afternoon of reminiscing. Roche, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond L. Roche, Corinne, recently was promoted to Army sergeant while assigned as a squad leader with the Eighth U.S. Army Security company in Korea. Sergeant Roche is a squad leader with the company at Camp Thompson. Willard Reports Sixth Grade Honored At Banquet Thursday By Mrs. E. F. Watts Twenty-eigh- Terri Loveland and Debra sixth t Kevin Holmes; and sixth grade, graders graduating from the Willard school were honored at a banquet in the school cafeteria Thursday night. All of their parents and the teachers who had taught them during their years at the Willard school were present. Committee in charge of the event included Beverly Nelson, class room mother, chairman; and helping her were Jean Baddley, table and LuDene decorations, Young, DeNice Barker and Phyllis Rynhart. The 28 graduates are Kenneth Ball, Tyler Barker, Kendall Chambers, Ervin Hickman, Nelson, Tracy Richards, Brett Trent Weaver, David Mathew Spencer, Wetzel, David Wilson and Lance Young. Following the dinner the young people put a program on for their guests which featured a trumpet solo by David Wilson, a vocal duet by Sherry Wells and Jeanine Woodland, and a tumbling routine by some of the girls in the class. Boys Win Game An annual event at the closing of school at the Willard school is the softball game between the faculty and the sixth grade boys. The game, played on Wednesday, was a rousing success as far as the boys were concerned for they won the game with a score to 12 to 16. In the honor assembly held at the Willard school Thursday morning the following students received 100 percent attendance awards: kindergarten, Joe Christensen, Robbie Dalton, Teri Ann Nelson; first grade, Mandi Johnson and Troy Weaver; second grade, Diane Waite and Diane Stucki; third grade, Lorette Kunkel, Kenny Lemon, Mike Richards and Doug Johnson; fourth grade, Jimmy Dalton, Mike Holmes, Jennifer Hall, Lori Mower and Brenda Charley; fifth grade, Hemsley. Special guests at the assembly were the school PTA officers and the room mothers. Tributes were paid to each of them and to all the teachers and the school secretary. Program numbers at the assembly included numbers from the sixth grade banquet held Wednesday night, and the following: a piano solo by Michelle Mund; piano duet by Tammy Ipsen and Lisa Baddley, and a piano duet by Tammy and Natalie Ipsen. The Willard school announces that the school library will open beginning Monday, June 14, from 8 to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday for six weeks. Birthday Party A family birthday party at the family home honored Mrs. Hazel Lowe on her 82nd birthday, Thursday, May 27. Guests besides the guest of honor and her son Clark Lowe, were Mr. and Mrs. O.L. Davis and Margaret, Mr. and Mrs. (Ilene) Dixon, all of Ogden; Mr. and Mrs. William (Phyllis) Young from Corinne; Pauline Woodyatt and Mr. and Mrs. Dewy Davis from Willard. Sgt. Evan Perry, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Wesley Perry, left on Tuesday after a five-davisit with his family in Willard. Evan has just completed a tour of duty with the Army In Fort Benning, Ga. and is enroute to Fort Carson, Colo. While he was here, his sister, Marilyn, from Blackfoot, Idaho, a brother and , Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Perry from Woods Cross, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kelly from Brigham City visited with him besides family members living in Willard. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Kunzler announce the arrival of a baby girl Thursday, May 27, in the Cooley Hospital in Brigham City. This is the first child for the Kunzlers and sharing grandparent honors are Mr. and Mrs. William Kunzler from Burley, Idaho, and Mr. and y sister-in-law- Mrs. Alton Thomas from Thomasville, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. Miles Allred spent three days over the Memorial day holiday at Echo Dam enjoying camping, boating and fishing. Chicago Visitors Mrs. Lewis (Sherrie) Christensen and two daughters, Amy and Angela, from Chicago, visited in Willard for a week with Lewis's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Don Christensen. While here they were entertained at a family luncheon and at the home of Mrs. Reese (Don) Jensen in Brigham City. They are visiting for two weeks in Springville with Sherries family before returning to Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Don Christensen enjoyed a trip to Spring City and Mount Pleasant, where they visited with relatives and decorated graves. Mr. and Mrs. George (Evah) Sargent visited in Willard on Sunday and attended services in the Willard ward. George sang a vocal duet with Richard Braegger in one number by the ward choir. Willard ward choir will take a vacation for the summer, resuming practices and singing in the ward after Sept. 1, it was announced by Edith Baddley, choir director, Sunday. Emmeline Braithwaite was appointed as spiritual relations teacher and Mary Braegger has accepted the position of choister. District Den Mother Sets Coach Session A district Cub Scout den leader coach training session is planned for Wednesday, June 9 according to the District Den Mother Hope Layton. The session will be held in Mrs. Layton's home at 448 South Seventh West and will begin at 2 p.m. The district den mother stressed that the session is for den mother coaches and not for den mothers. Den mother coaches are experienced Den Mothers whose job will be to help the new Den Mother get started. "It is so easy for the new Den Mother to get discouraged," Mrs. Layton related, "because she doesn't know exactly how to run things." This is the purpose of the Coach, to help her out.
