Phone Water Temperature The water temperature of the inlet channel Thursday was 40 degrees, and the peak of the run usually occurs when the water temperature is from 47 to 49 degrees. The channel usually warms up when water is turned into the spillway, said Fricke. When water starts running over the spillway, the run is right around the corner. So far this week a few anglers have tried their luck along the channel. A couple of walleye have been caught, but nothing to stir up any commotion. When the run starts, the Inlet channel is closed from the spillway west to the buoys, he said. Fish and Game officers start their walleyg . egg .collecting operation and this prevents interference with fishermen, said Fricke. The fuse is burning and at any moment the walleye spawning run will explode with activity. The pike run is expected anytime, Utah Division of Fish and Game Officer John Fricke announced this week. The run occurs annually during this time of the year and usually lasts for about three weeks. Anglers get the best fishing results in the early morning and late evenings. Yellow jigs and Mepps spinners do the best jobs, according to Fricke. Fishermen from all over northern Utah converge on the inlet channel as soon as the word about the run is learned. Some fish caught were reported to have weighed four and a half pounds. 2 bedroom FOR RENT home in Brigham. Unfurnished. Phone or 744-889- DIAMOND Staff Writer quarters. 0.
