OKeefe, general manager. OKeefe announced that Wayne Burt will become general superintendent of smelting and refining operations, a newly created post. Burt formerly was refinery superintendent. The change is effective Nov. 1. Burt, 40, joined Braden Copper company, a Kennecott subsidiary in Chili, in 1944 as mine foreman. He became shitt foreman at the Utah refinery in 1950 and was named a mine industrial engineer in 1954, and later that year was promoted to Kennecotts New York offices as office engineer in operations. fn 1957 he received a one-yegrant to the Alfred P.
