Hart and daughter Deena spent the holiday weekend at 1 A recent visitor of Mr. and Mrs. William Parker was her sister Mrs. Beth Winn of Los Angeles, Calif, who visited for 10 days. Other guests were Richard Winn and son from San Francisco, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Adrain Ryan of Bellevue, Wash. Mrs. Winn is. moving to Salt Lake City to make her home. ' Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Png-mor- e have returned from a 10 day stay at Richland, Wash, where they were with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Gailey and assisted with the arrival of a new grandson bom Oct. 14. American University in McAllen. Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Bourne their ranch at Bear Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Roy W. Simmons are at home again after flying to Houston, Texas where Mr. Simmons attended the American Bankers Association Convention. While there they were guests of their two sons, L. E. Simmons and Mr. and Mrs. Matthew of Garland have moved to Fruit Heights to make their home with their daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Phillips. Russell W. Buhler had the misfortune of breaking his ankle while deer hunting last Simmons. Odd Russell from Anchorage, Alaska, visited his sister and brother-in-laMr. and Mrs. Tom Lenox for a few days while en route to Trenton, New Jersey on a business trip. Mrs. Marjorie Thatcher has been seriously ill the past Mr. and Mrs. Ivan R. Richardson have received word from McAllen, Texas that their son Dr. D. Chad Richardson was sustained Sunday, Oct. 23 as a member of the bishopric there. Dr. Richardson is teaching at Pan son-in-la- week. Dr. Harvey Ashmead has been in London, England conducting a series of seminars on nutrition. Before returning home he will be conducting a series in the Eastern United States. Brent Thomas sen who has served in the United States Army the past seven years has been released. He has served the past two years in Germany and is now at home. Brent has accepted a position in Salt Lake City with Adamson and Associates. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Thomassen. FOR KAYSVILLE MAYOR Sceliino Total Citizen The Clearfield Chamber of Commerce is looking for nominees for the Total Citizen award, sponsored by the Utah State Chamber of Commerce, the Small Business Person of the Year sponsored by the Small Business Administration and nominees for Outstanding Young Men of America, endorsed by the United States Jaycees. THE TOTAL Citizen award is based on community activities, benefit to the community, public involvement, church involvement and family background. The Small Business Person award nominees should be small business man or woman who has more than routine success and is the head of an independently owned small business. The enterprise should be identified with economic growth and, if the person nominated is successful in a type of business new to the community or if they are manufacturing a product invented by them . , THE OUTSTANDING Young Man must be between the ages of 21 and 36 whose achievements merit recognition. Leadership, community service, professional and civic recognition are some of the attributes that the young men will be judged on. Anyone who would like to nominate persons in any of the three categories should send the name, address, age, business and basis for the nomination to the Clearfield Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Smoot in the dedicatory prayer of the Davis Mental Health, Northern Unit Abuse and Substance Rehabilitation Center, Wednesday night. May it become a healing center of our county. THE dedication and ribbon cutting ceremonies took place in the Rehabilitation Center, 2250 North 1700 West, Layton, with many notable guests in attendance. Dr. Russell A. Williams, Davis County Director of Mental Health, noted the growth and convenience of health care in the north end of Davis County because of the proximity of the Davis North Medical Center, the Clearfield Convalescent and Nursing Centerand the several doctors, clinics in the area near the new Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Centers. HE recounted the past history of persons with mental diseases, saying that not too many years ago mentally disturbed patients were hidden away, then with progress in mental health, they were locked up in mental institutions. I am always amazed that people are willing to take the responsibility for their communities, and I find this same kind of commitment all over the state, and with that attitude we can get the job done, no matter how large or hard.
