The convention was held at the St. Francis Hotel for the American Association of Medical Assistants in the is nation. Mrs. Cook of this group president-elec- t in Utah. While there she was also one of eleven chosen to become certified for a special CPR course, that must be licensed annually. The main objective of this seminar was for continuous education in the field for medical assistants. Following the week-lonseminar she enjoyed a three-da- y tour of the southern part of the state. Thurgood was honored on Sunday with a family dinner party in honor of his birthday anniversary. On hand were his wife Jasmine, Mr. and Mrs. David Thurgood and their three children, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Turner and their three children. Mr. and Mrs. Keith West and Mr. and Mrs. Fay Child are back home following a weeks vacation to the Bahamas. A large group of close friends attended the funeral services on Tuesday for Ned P. Okelberry at the LDS Chapel in Goshen, Utah. Mr. Okelberry was the father of Mrs. LeGrande H. Simmons of Layton and visited often here and in Layton, where he has made a host of Elaine Nance and Mrs. Alvin Nance to Provo, last Friday, friends. Hunters from this area have had great luck these past two weeks as they traveled into funeral services of Mrs. Bessie Thorpe. Mrs. Thorpe is the mother-in-laof Russell Barber. Mr. and Mrs. Zene W. Bennett entertained with a family dinner party on Sunday for their nephew, Elder Jeff Newman, of Layton, who is leaving this weekend for the LDS Mission Home in Salt Lake City, prior to his departure for the Texas Dallas mission field. Mrs. Cleo Barber, accompanied by her daughters Mrs. where Shelia McCowen, Mrs. Ardell Stoker and Mrs. Jerry Stoker. It was held at the home of Mrs. McCowen. Miss Linda Nance and Miss Suzanne Barber are attending school at Dixie College in southern Utah this fall. Linda is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Nance, and Mr. and Mrs. Phil C.
