GOOFY GOSSIP last week with my comments sure hit the Jack-po- t on the Sales Tax. The papers on the proposed increase Lake Salt Honorable Mayor as saying, The the quote added sales tax would hit all persons according to income. Maybe my education has been sadly neglected, but I claim the sales tax is an out-g- o tax and has nothing to do with income. You pay sales tax on what you spend and not on money received. The bigger the family and the more you spend for the necessities of life the more you pay in sales Tax regardless of income. From all the comments I have received an additional sales tax would have as much chance of becoming a law as a snowball would have getting through the proverbial Hot Place. I have heard many discussions at different convenproblem tions on the cost of food. Also the house-wife- s of feeding her family and staying within the confines of the monthly food budget. That is why I am so interested in this proposed increase in sales tax. I have come to the conclusion that very few families are sure just how much it costs for food. The variations of how people eat and what they like in the way of food has a great deal to do with the cost of living.' Last week I mentioned the fact we can give you information on how with our Food Bank you can Eat Better for Less. Mrs. Housewife, if you are wondering what shall we eat today and how much is it going to cost me we have the answer to your question. Our Food Bank is not a hit and miss program and if faithfully followed will give a balanced diet with all the nourishing food necessary to make And keep a healthy body and also take much of the drudgery and worry out of the kitchen. The first question I am going to ask. CAN YOU, MRS. HOUSEWIFE, FEED EACH ADULT IN YOUR FAMILY FOR $17.36 A MONTH WITH A PLEASING VARIETY OF HEALTHFUL, NUTRITI-IU- S I Better for Less.
