The Tooele Chapter did well at the convention and was recog- nized with several honors and awards. One of these awards was the "Five Star Chapter Award. This is a prestigious award that Wendover. She joined the Mansell and Associates organization in June of 1984 and located in the Tooele branch. Susan was raised in Tooele and after a few years in other areas of Utah as well as Arizona and Wyoming moved back to make it her home once again in 1982. She is a graduate of Tooele High School. A graduate of Stevens Henager College with an associates degree in merchandising. She has worked as a store manager for Susies Casuals and Nobby in Orem, Utah and Phoenix, Arizona for six years. In 1978 she went to work as an office manager for Lamber Hall Institute real estate school in Salt Lake City for two years and at that time was licensed as a real estate agent. Since receiving her license she has attended numerous classes on selling, listing, appraising, finance, as well as GRI classes offered through Mansell & Associates. Her working experience with the public makes her well qualified to meet the needs of a prospective buyer or seller. She enjoys working with people and always meeting new people. Helping people fulfill their dreams when purchasing a new home is an important goal for her as well as helping a seller find a good qulified buyer. Susan resides in Tooele with her husband Doug and three sons. This is the highest award given in the State Association. She received $300 and two plaques for her hard work and outstanding efforts in her agriculture projects and her involvement in the FFA. She is now holding the office of Secretary in the Tooele chapter, and has been elected to be next years Chapter President. She is also the chapter sweetheart. A new award this year was the recognition of two administrators that are recognized as outstanding administrators, supporters and friends of the FFA program. The Tooele Chapter is very proud and honored to have had Mr. Paul Skyles, Vocational Director of Tooele County School District, receive this award. Mr. Skyles is certainly deserving of this award, and the chapter appreciates him very much for all he does for the Tooele and Grants-vill- e Agriculture Programs. Cancer Drive Begins . . Tooele's Representative Vth only eleven chapters in the state received. Six of the Tooele members received the State Farmer Degree. These members are Sandy Perkins, Darrell Holden, Mike Gowans, Kim Arnold, Steve Wyatt and Gus Warr. James Wrathall, who is presently serving as the Tooele chapters President, won first place in sheep production. He received a $100 check and a plaque from the Utah Wool Growers and the National FFA Foundation. He will now go on to the Western Region to compete for the National Award. Evidence points to a lessening of chances of getting cancer by increasing the amount of fiber in the diet and lowering the intake of fatty foods. Area Obituaries Christopher M. Etherington Christopher Michael Etherington, age 5, died April 1, 1985, in Magna. He was City; John and Jewel Etherington, Jacksonville, North Carolina; great grandparents, Eunice Mulli-canMagna; Bertha Etherington, Salt Lake City; many aunts, uncles e, born April 4, 1979, in Salt Lake City to Daniel Duane and Connie Kay Flvas Etherington. He attended kindergarten, and was a member of the LDS Church. Interment, Lake Point . t jcemetery, Tooele County Joseph Fernando Mondragon The Lord has called our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and nr r friend, Joseph Fernando Mon-drago- 54, from among us. He died April 2, 1985 in Salt Lake City. Mr. Mondragon was born on April 10, 1930 in Ranchos De Taos, New Mexico to Jose P. and Aqueda Mondragon. He married Ernestina Montano on Feb. 25, 1977 in Elko. He was previously married and later Kim Arnold of the Tooele FFA Chapter won the Star State Farm- er Award. This is the highest award given by the state organization. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norris Arnold of St. John in divorced. Mr. Mondragon was a decorated veteran of the Korean War. He retired in 1982 from Dugway Prov- ing Ground where he received many awards. He enjoyed singing, music, dancing, playing guitar and outdoor sports. Mr. Mondragon was a member of the Catholic Church. He is survived by: sons, James, Danny and Eric, all of Tooele; Scott, Magna; daughter, Geri, uvl Tooele; stepsons, Ron and Larry, Tooele; Tim, Grantsville; step- daughter, Natalie, Grantsville. Other survivors include: 17 grandchildren; brothers, Levi and William of Tooele; Max, Taos, New Mexico; Tito, Denver; sister, Viola, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a son, Earl. Funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St Marguerite's Church, 510 East Vine in Tooele. He was born on April 7, 1905 in Stockton to Theodore Carl and Anjannett Maze Kelley. He married Bertha Lucille Russell on June 12, 1937 In Salt Lake City. Mr. Kelley was a member of the LDS Church. He was a lifetime resident of Stockton and worked for Combined Metals at Bauer for 30 years. He loved the outdoors, gardening, prospecting, and delighted In children. He was also a sheepherder. Mr. Kelley Is survived by: wife, Stockton; daughters, Sharon Roberts; Mrs. Walt (Mary Lu) Sanders; Sandra DuBols; Mrs. Dennis (Donna) McBride, all of Grantsville; son, Ronald Carl, Salt Lake City; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Mary Harwood, Orem. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Henry Ross. Funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. tn the Stockton LDS Ward.
